"Lakefront Lodge Taupō sits directly on the lakefront, and I stayed for one night as a stopover during a long journey. The views of the lake and the sunset were exceptional, right from the front of the lodge. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a smooth stay. The location was spot on, and communication with the staff was clear and friendly. The environment was welcoming. I would stay again and highly recommend it to others without a second thought."
"We stayed in the family room with a spa. The spa is a bit old and the paint was flaking off it. Also took ages to fill up and if you leave it, the water slowly drains out. But the kids loved it.
Would also suggest going to laundromat if you want laundry done as the washing machine and dryer ($2 for 30 mins) is pretty average.
Would have been good if a quick vacuum was given everyday too - kids mean crumbs everywhere.

"We stayed three nights, it was a perfect location and the room was clean and worked well for us. The only thing I would point out was that the pool cues in the games room had no ends on them and the pool balls were not all there, my kids and I enjoy playing on a pool table so were disappointed that we were unable to play. Other than that I recommend Ika Nui and will stay there again."

"Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The rooms are old and really need updating, and the bed was uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The property feels outdated and doesn’t offer the comfort you would expect for the price. The only good thing was the public pool. My advice would be to spend an extra $100 and stay somewhere better. It’s worth paying a little more for a cleaner, more modern, and comfortable experience."

Great location, off street parking. Friendly staff and great comms before arrival. Easy check in. We only stay a night but if staying longer, the hotel offered towels to take if heading out for a swim and kayaks to hire. Bbq facilities also available.
