This 12th century basaltic temple devoted to Lord Shiva was built during the Kadamba period and has survived a very violent destructive religious intolerance. It's located deep inside the vast Bhagwan Mahaveer wildlife sanctuary and is a quaint peaceful place to visit.

"We had a fantastic time here. The rooms are excellent, comfortable beds with good showers. Beds are cleaned daily which was a nice surprise, cleanliness was a big plus point of this hotel. There are 2 pools guests can use and are close to the bar/restaurant which has well priced drinks and great barmen/waiters. In fact, all staff are extremely helpful and polite.
