"The hotel was nice looking and had good historical value. It’s in a good location. The cleanliness of the room was average to above average. The beds were not good. Solid hard foam mattress. Very uncomfortable. The staff was there to do a job but really did not succeed. Not too friendly. Seemed to be a younger / inexperienced staff. Upon check in really no information was given. Had to ask for the complimentary bottles of water. Breakfast was ok and was served between 7am and 9am and not complementary. The thermostat in the room wasn’t operating. The hotel regulated the temperature. Pretty warm. Front desk suggested to just open the window. I would rate our overall experience a 3."

"Parking was an issue as it is on street parking and the town had an overnight parking ban. This was not fault of Janie but perhaps onstreet parking might be better description The unit was spotless "

"This is one of our favorite places to stay anywhere in the US. Lovely inn! Each room has its own individual charm as no two rooms are alike. A bonus is the great continental breakfast! Make detours to Marblehead every time we come to Boston just so we can include a stay here."

"Super cute and very clean, perfect for our weekend stay. Restaurants (PLEASE TRY "The Little Store" – amazing!), shops all within walking distance. Plenty of room for the six of us. Kitchen was well stocked with every pot, pan and plattter you could image. Owner was very responsive and let us to have an early check-in."

"This is a fabulous lodging! It's spacious, tastefully decorated, and has a well-equipped kitchen. The fireplace was an especially nice touch for cold winter nights. The views were lovely, even in winter, with the house roofs iced with snow and a huge Christmas Tree visible from several windows. The location is also close to the main street where there are many restaurants. Peter is a great host. "
