When locals would tell me about Marsa Alam, they would always tell me how great of a diving location it is, however they would always lower my expectations when talking about places to stay. We stayed for a long a time and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The hotel beach is in the bay and is somewhat sheltered from the winds which are pretty strong in Egypt. We saw a red flag on the beach like 3 times during January. The sea was warm and pleasant, noticeably warmer than in Hurghada. The only downside is that the entrance to the sea is too shallow.
