"We stayed two nights at Calilo and I honestly don’t even know where to start. This place is stunning. From the moment you walk in, you’re surrounded by crystal-clear water, golden sand, and these incredible cliffs — it’s like a dream.
We learned while we were there that it took 20 years to build Calilo, and you can feel it in every detail. The whole property is full of artwork, hand-carved stone, and beautiful mosaics. It’s not just a hotel – it feels like you’re staying inside a gallery blended perfectly with nature. We travel quite frequently and this is arguably the most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed at.
We received a complimentary room upgrade and loved it! It had a ‘pond’, which was really a private pool and a terrace overlooking the beach. Just gorgeous!
The staff deserves a huge shoutout. Every single person we met was friendly, genuine, and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. From little surprises in the room to great tips about the island, it felt like they really cared about our experience. The bar manager and tender went above and beyond - even blending fresh mango just for our drinks!
Calilo isn’t just a place to stay — it’s an experience. We left feeling completely refreshed and already planning when we can come back. If you’re thinking about it, book it. You will not regret it. We will definitely stay for longer next time!"
"A honeymoon delight. The suit we wanted for the whole stay wasn’t available so we made two booking. This one was pretty, private and had its own pool terrace are, large spacious room with a beautiful bathroom. "

"Great beachfront hotel with great breakfast, pool area and beach access. Many other dining options within walking distance. The property seemed very new. The staff were incredibly responsive and helpful. Helped with rental car to explore the island and easy to access rest of island with this as a home base. Be aware that there are several clothing optional beaches on Naxos."
"If going to Greece, the island of Ios should be your last stop. It is very relaxing and a great way to unwind from all of the sightseeing.
Staying at the Ios Palace was fantastic! The hotel is waterfront and provides great views of the beach and swimming pools. Staff was very friendly and spoke English well. Knowing this was our last stop, we splurged at this hotel and got a room with a fantastic view with balcony. It was well worth it! The room was large, clean and has a good size balcony for evening wine overlooking the ocean. Our room was high up near the upper pool. The upper pool was much more quiet than the main pool which made for a much more relaxing atmosphere.
Restaurants are all within walking distance and there were plenty to choose from.
Staff was responsive when there was an issue with the AC. They came up right away and fixed the problem.
The hotel can also arrange transportation to and from the ferry port. The transport was waiting at the dock with our name on a sign which made him easy to find.
If returning to Ios, we would definitely stay here again."
