"Room was spotlessly clean. Would have preferred the sink in the shower room instead of in the bedroom! Really comfy bed and excellent soundproof. Had great sleep both nights. Wine was a bit pricey but never ate in restaurant. Used the gym and couldn't see cleaning materials for equipment. Would stay again."

"The Clayton has an excellent location within easy walking distance to Edinbourg's attractions, the Castle etc. The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was very clean. As seems to be common in European hotels the room was small but still very comfortable. The bathroom while spotless and modern was very small and it was like a sauna after taking a shower which was quite uncomfortable. The hotel does not have any parking. It has a discount arrangement with a parking garage which was nice but the garage itself is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. So all in all luggage dropoff and parking is a hassle. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay there again"

"The room was very clean, nice and reasonably quiet. I took away one star because we could hear the person upstairs scraping their chair across the floor at 6am. We did not address this with staff as we had only a very short stay. Otherwise, it was a very good experience. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The location is excellent, especially for further travel around Scotland. Kitchen well equipped also."

"The hotel was nice overall. It was used as an event venue so it was very busy. The room was spacious and clean. However the shower had no door and the rain shower head was located o the open side of the glass door. I made the show unusable as it would have completely flooded the room."
