Perfect

The YHA in Alice Springs is perfectly located and a charming place to stay that ouzes character. I'm 50 years old and stayed there with my wife. It was spotlessly clean and absolutely ideal for a few nights before heading over to Ayers Rock. The staff were amazing

Clearly room had not been cleaned properly or in a long time as there was dust all over the fan and in corners. The blinds felt dirty. There was another person's hair on my bed when I arrived (I was the first person in the room so was not another guest) I had a late check in which I did appreciate the clear instructions how to get in, however there was no instructions on where to find sheets for the bed. Luckily I was able to find them on my own.

Overall great experience, really can't complain. Rooms are clean, staff are friendly. Only wish the tables outdoors were wiped down or had a hand brush handy to wipe the tree bits off.

Excellent value for money, great security, friendly staff and clean well kept facilities ie: laundry and toilets/showers cleaned daily! Pleasantly surprised as it’s been a long time since I’ve stayed in a YHA. Facilities where fine a few more pointers as to what to do would have been helpful. However, the staff were very helpful when asked.

I liked the convenience of the property and it's closeness to the city and shopping, the guests that were there were also lovely and friendly. The negative side to the property was you were having to deal heavily with the locals and criminal behaviour going on in the area.

The hostel was well-equipped. I was disappointed by the very weak a/c in the 4 bed dorm (much better in the larger dorm)

Well run Hostel with adequate facililities generally but excellent provisions in the kitchen of kitchen equipment. Comfortable beds, everything kept clean and tidy. Xmas day was great with everyone in the hostel sitting around eating and drinking and talking to each other.

Good value but noisy

Facilities average but what expected in YHA and good value for money. Common areas nice but on two nights we stayed here (3 days apart) loud music and voices. Music was excessively loud in afternoon and also went on late into evening and this could be heard loudly in the bedrooms. Asked guest myself to turn down which happened for short period before returning to excessive level - staff did not seem bothered by music/were not present. As many people staying here seem to be on tours departing early it would have been useful if reception area had been open as we had to leave suitcases the night before (8pm) in locked storage.
