Stunning Private Retreat with Views and Private Pool

Wonderfully private and newly refurbished 2 bed villa, located on the Costa Tropical in the sought after area of Cotobro, Almunecar. An easy drive from Malaga or Granada airports; Almunecar has a warm and sunny climate year round, beautiful beaches and a lovely historic town. All the lifestyle options are close by, from casual to fine dining through to sports or outdoor activities for your perfect retreat in the Mediterranean sun.

The Space

The villa features an incredible, large and sunny South facing terrace with Mediterranean Sea views and access to the large and private 13 metre pool. With a stylish, contemporary fit-out, the villa has a Double Master bedroom, second bedroom with 2 single beds and an open plan kitchen/dining/living area. All open to the terrace and are perfect for enjoying easy indoor/outdoor living and relaxation. The villa is close to local buses, supermarket and restaurants. The kitchen includes all crockery, utensils and appliances you could need (including a dishwasher and washing machine), the bathroom is modern and tidy and throughout the villa all your comforts have been considered. Two split system air conditioners, ceiling fan as well as shutters, blinds and awnings are available for you to choose sun, shade or both – or perhaps a long lie-in or afternoon siesta!

The pool

The pool is available for guests between Mid May and October.
It is an excellent size for swimming lengths. Please note that access to the pool involves climbing up steps to a higher level. The views are worth it !

Perfekter Aufenthalt!

Alles wie online beschrieben. Wunderschöner Meerblick von jedem Zimmer durch die rund ums Haus gezogene Terrasse. Alles sauber und modern eingerichtet. Küche komplett ausgestattet mit allem was man braucht. Sonnenliegen sowohl auf der Terrasse, wie auch einige Treppen oberhalb am wirklich schönem Pool. Kommunikation war sehr herzlich und informativ. In ca 10 min kommt man zu Fuß zum Strand. Die Wohngegend ist sehr angenehm und Parkmöglichkeiten sind bequem vor dem Haus vorhanden. Die Katzen die dort sind ( wie fast überall in Almunecar) stören überhaupt nicht, da sie im Gelände nebenan sind und auch nicht ins Haus kommen. Es gibt sehr hilfsbereite Menschen die sich liebevoll um die Katzen kümmern. Wir waren absolut zufrieden, haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und hatten einen schönen und erholsamen Urlaub

The villa is modern, well equipped, spacious, and has a great heated pool. A/C works well and all windows have shutters. Terrific views across Almenucar, and is in a quiet safe area with easy on street parking. The arrival arrangements were not good - instructions for location sent on the day and then no information to say it was self check-in and that the owner was not going to be there - they were in the UK - and a delay in locating keys because of a lack of pre-arrival information. Also take care if using Google Maps because there is a Calle Buena Vista in Herradura, which for some sites is deemed part of Almenucar. Property interiors in the area seem to be plagued with tiny ants - resolved once all surfaces, nooks and crannies were cleaned. You can't use the dishwasher or leave anything edible out. There's a group of 10 cats that live under part of the owner's adjacent property. It is disconcerting that the grounds of the villa are being accessed by someone who feeds the cats, and means what animals need to do is close by. The walk down to the promenade is only 600m but it is very steep at 1:8. We drove to a small parking area just above the main seafront. For the pool, the space, and the modern feel to the place it is one I do not hesitate to recommend. It could be close to perfect if some of the niggles were resolved - a professional management company to do checks and handover would help. Resolution of cats needs to happen now, not in October as planned.

Disappointing , this property is not as advertised.

On the plus side the house is nice and as described other than the bathroom is a little worn, the toilet is cracked in several places and the shower doors do not close properly and are stained at the bottom. it is a very steep walk down to the town and we ended up driving as taxis were in short supply. However we were informed the day before our holiday that there was a colony of feral cats living on the property and were asked to feed them at 6pm daily There were 11 cats including 3 kittens. We refused and were subjected to a barrage of messages from the owner who could not understand why this was an issue. She said she would get someone else to feed them but that did not stop them as they clearly live on the property under the house of the owner which is above the rental house by the pool and they also come onto your terrace, which is totally unacceptable to someone like myself who is allergic to cats and suffers from asthma, which the owner could not accept. We had to keep the terrace doors closed to stop them entering the house. There was vomit on the stairs on 2 occasions and they use the somewhat neglected garden as a toilet. You have to pass this area to access the pool which again was blatantly misrepresented, the owner says there are ' some ' steps up to the pool when in fact there are 55 steep stairs, in addition there are 22 to access the house, this should be mentioned in the description. We went up to the pool one day to find the maintenance man painting the pool railings, which like the front gate are rusty and shabby but this work should have been done when the property was empty. The pool shower only dribbles and does not spray and as the owner says only works ' intermittently ' The pool is good but the surroundings are dirty and dusty, debris collected on the bottom due to overhanging trees and whilst you can clear the top it is hard to keep it clean and the pool man only comes once a week which is inadequate. The owners attitude in this was unbelievable in its arrogance and when we complained she replied saying that she imagined we did not want to water the garden either. She is more than happy to take your money and then expect you to maintain the gardens and feed the cats for her... We would never have stayed here if she had been honest in her description , it was too late to cancel which she would have been aware of, why not just be honest ? it seems money is her sole driver not her guests.

Schönes Haus mit toller Aussicht!

Das Haus verfügt über eine tolle Terasse mit super schönem Meerblick! Das Haus ist privat und sehr zentral. Die Küche ist sehr gut eingerichtet, es ist alles vorhanden, was man benötigt. Gail war als Vermieterin sehr engagiert und hilfsbereit. Sie hat sich stets darum gekümmert, das alles in Ordnung ist! Leider konnten wir den Pool nicht nutzen, auf den wir uns sehr gefreut hatten. Er wurde renoviert. Gail war aber bemüht eine Alternative für uns zu finden. Wir würden die Unterkunft jeder Zeit wieder buchen!

Nos ha encantado nuestra estancia en casa de Gail. Almuñécar es una población preciosa.

La casa de Gail es preciosa, con unas vistas espectaculares sobretodo desde la piscina. La piscina es una divinidad, grande, espaciosa y el jardín muy bonito con unas hamacas muy cómodas. Es una casa muy bien decorada y muy equipada. Además nos dejó de todo. La casa está ubicada en la Urbanización El Cotorbo, muy tranquila y se puede acceder al pueblo caminando, aunque hay cuestas, pero en 5' se llega al paseo de San Cristobal. La playa del Cotorbo es muy bonita, con muchos servicios. La casa es ideal para pasar unas vacaciones fantásticas como las hemos pasado nosotros. Para volver...
