Overall our 2 night stay was lovely but for a 5* Rated pub/restaurant we were left a little disappointed.
No hot water on the first morning - it was sorted efficiently though.
Faulty main light in room
No fresh milk - would expect for 5*
Only a few coffee pods/not replenished
Outdoor area slightly untidy
We loved our stay at the Joiners Arms. The food both on the evening and for breakfast was lovely. Service quick and well mannered. Will be back thanks again
Great first stay at the Joiners Arms. We took our dog and they had a bed, ball, bowls and treats in our room. Sunday lunch was amazing as ever, service prompt, extra gravy not a problem. Couldn't fault breakfast, really impressive and the check-in/check-out was easy. Would highly recommend.
Room was clean and comfortable. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Great food. Dogs catered for and then some. Never been in a place where dogs are more welcome
Very unwelcoming on arrival , quite rude actually. Castle view cottage is actually just a run down cold bungalow. The electric Shower is absolutely pathetic . Beds fairly comfortable, but had to sleep fully clothed as the property despite having electric heaters is really cold. We had an evening meal which was average at best and expensive for the quality. The bill comes pre loaded with a hefty service charge , a joke really as the service was poor. Better option is to go into bamburgh and eat at the potted lobster (thank me later) real quality food and service.
Only positive for us was a surprisingly decent breakfast which we all enjoyed .
Definitely not a 5 star experience, far from it.
Really nice cosy, romantic room. Really good breakfast. We had dinner booked elsewhere, but we wished we had a second night to eat at the restaurant, it looked very nice.
Lovely accomodation, loved the fluffy towels and roll top bath, very spacious room. Food was nice somethings a little over priced. Lovely area, friendly staff.
No Parking on site. No help with luggage up stairs, rooms accessible via door marked toilets at back of bar.Had to leave a £50 credit card deposit in case we had to use the bar,not exactly 5star!!! Room was dusty above eye level,no information booklets in room,no telephone to reception, shower did not drain well and flooded bathroom floor, loud music from bar past 11pm.If the Company regard this as five star. they are deluded beyond belief This is an average pub with a few rooms and a lack of facilities and is a bit tacky.
Lovely room, location good. However a very busy pub, full every night, which resulted in busy staff and noise from the bar until 10pm.
Good to see a busy pub, but this isnt always helpful if you're early to bed!
Oldy-worldy charm in a converted attic, complete with a copper tub (separate from the bathroom). The only (minor) downside is the narrow, steep staircase to two of the rooms which might be troublesome for some people.
Excellent 5-star breakfast.
