The community kitchen was not very clean, crockery & cutlery would be better stored in containers to keep dust out, no mugs or washing up equipment.

We booked a month ahead but missed out on the Deluxe Cabins at Mungo Lodge so we got into a Bunkroom at Mungo Roo. My daughter found her bed to be very uncomfortable as she could feel the mattress springs poking in the night.
Being in the Bunkhouse meant walking across a short distance to the bathrooms which was in the total dark so we used our phone torches. This would be difficult with little children but we got used to it and it was OK. It was an opportunity to see the glorious night sky.
It seems there is no escaping the red dust anywhere.
The staff at Mungo Lodge were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the meals were top class. Considering the isolation, the Lodge is very well supplied and managed. The open fire in the Lounge is a real winner! and a place to mix with other travellers who were also very friendly. We had a lovely stay.
We found the whole area of Lake Mungo and its history absolutely fascinating.

Mungo Lodge Glamping Experience
A very special place. I did the glamping tent, which was very comfortable, spacious and well laid out. Tent 2 has the best location. It was chilly at night (May), but fine once rugged up inside.
I would thoroughly recommend Mungo Lodge to anyone wanting to visit the National Park. Staff and service were excellent as was the food and tours.

Not quite the glamping experience we expected
Comfortable enough inside the tent and very quiet as there were hardly any other travellers nearby. I should have known that there is no electricity to the tent so my C-Pap machine could not be used during the night. Very small deck outside the tent but relatively close to the amenity block. Our dinner in the restaurant was enjoyable. Pleasant enough overall and quite close to the entrance to the National Park so it did the job. Would we glamp here again? Probably not.

What a great place to stay! The staff were so accommodating and friendly. The location is so close to Mungo National Park. Highly recommend this place.
It was ok for people who enjoy camping but I wouldn't call it glamping. Our tent was one of two but we were allocated the one out in the sun not the one under a tree, that one remained vacant. The tent was extremely hot but otherwise, comfortable enough. Nowhere to chill anything, like champagne or chocolates without a trek across the dusty paddock to the communal kitchen. The ladies running the nearby lodge were very nice and did their best to help us with tours. Dinner was an 'inconvenience' for the chef because they had a photography group staying at the lodge, despite us having a dinner booking we did not get a choice of meals or dessert, had to get our own cutlery etc. Would not stay there again unless we had a room at the lodge or a cabin.
