Most importantly, the linens were clean. The rest of the room shows its age. Desperately in need of refresh. The staff makes the different. I was fine there but I would be a bit more careful of taking the rest of my family there. It was good enough.

I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel! The double queen room was perfect for 3 people to share. It was spacious and cozy. Our balcony faced the highway, which was fine, and we enjoyed feeling that ocean breeze. The 2 staff that I encountered at the front desk during check in and check out were friendly and accommodating. Parking was great, plenty of space during the weekday. Location couldn't be better to access Fort Macon and Emerald Isle. Plenty of restaurants and grocery stores close by. The pool by far was the best amenity. It was quiet and peaceful after 4pm for a few hours of swimming and relaxation. We enjoyed the boardwalk over the marsh and the beautiful view of the sound.

The property was very nice, definitely cleaner and more comfortable than I expected for the price and area. Palm is just a couple blocks from public beach access, which is nice because parking anywhere at the beach, even most restaurants, is $5/hour. The heated salt water pool was an enormous plus, also very clean. having a balcony off of every room is unusual anymore and was used for morning coffee and people watching. Short walk anywhere and will take the kiddo next time (maybe).
