Very cool spot for dining out with loads of choice nearby, there's food in the bar at the front as well! Room was well equipped and comfy, we got lucky with room in the car park at the back but there is plenty of on-street as well
The room was clean and tidy , very did ious snd well presented but the surrounding occupants on the lower floors were very loud and partied through the night on a Thursday keeping everyone up , close to town and easy to get to shops and events

Spotlessly clean, but quite noisey most of the night. Lovely area, restaurants and bars opposite the hotel.

Staff assistance was excellent. Tiny window No AC though there was a fan. Couldnt get tv chanels. One pillow was old and extremely discoloured. Walls and decor were tired, marked and overall in need of refurbishment. Shower was cleanish although wall shelf was broken and cracked and the pressure non existant. If you needed a place to crash and didnt mind the hostel/student accomodation like environment then it would be sufficient.
Great location. Good price for Parnell. Liked that they allow dogs ($50/night) and have parking ($10/night, first come first served). Was clean and the check in lady was nice. Absolutely fantastic restaurants within a couple minutes walk. I'd stay there again.

Beautiful location. Close to The city centre.
Safe, private car parking, well appointed room.
Basic restaurant off the Reception area.
Despite having room cancellation insurance, property owner not willing to honour.
We enjoyed the room, we felt safe, it was very quiet. Unfortunately staying more than 1 day didn’t mean the tea bags were refilled each day- but really it was very good!

Close to where all the action is in Parnell for a very good price. It’s not the Ritz but I couldn’t afford that. Was fairly quiet, hot in the room, fan provided. Couldn’t adjust temperature in shower. Wanted a cold one but couldn’t seem to change it. Easy to access. Never actually saw any staff
We liked the fact it was clean bedding, but we were cold. Bed not very comfortable, thin uncomfortable pillow. TV did not work, milk stale it spoilt our coffee and could not drink it. Would not go back.

While the Parnell area is lovely with plenty of shopping, restaurants, and close to central city, this is basically a one star property. However the staff were very good!
We arrived to find reception unmanned and had to ring a cell phone - problem 1 - I didn't have a phone! We were asked to pay upfront by card - problem 2 - I was overcharged by $103 and didn't notice until I got to our room. Problem 3 - the owner resides (?) overseas and receptionist did not have authority to make a refund - it took contact with Expedia to sort out and I got refunded the day before we checked out.
The photos on Expedia are clearly old - there is a noisy bar attached to the front of the property - not a Gelato shop, not Lala Coffee Shop. The bar sells a smoking product via a hookah and has direct access to the toilets which are in the reception area - this is a security risk and it is not the only one - the lower floor side door is never closed - even when it is raining! The stairwell has direct access to the hallways on which the rooms are based. I recommend anyone staying here uses the room door security chain.
The wifi is poor and the TV services stutter as the TV only runs on wifi streaming - no aerial.
The condition of the room is "run down" with marked paint work on the walls. The bathroom is also run down - the lino had not been laid properly and looked to have been done by an amateur. The sink was cracked and the large mirror was badly marked with water damage (to the rear).
The property was not well maintained, no staff presence at reception. The smoke alarm had been disarmed and put in the wardrobe. The TV did not work. There was no cutlery to stir your cup of tea/coffee or a place. All in all very very disappointing and definitely unsafe.
I needed a one night stay close to the train station and this location checked those boxes and was a good value. It was an unusual commercial building style layout that had me wondering about the conversion to hostel. Clever. When I first stepped into the lobby it felt like a doctor's Office rather than a hostel. But the staff met me and put me at ease, ensured I had wifi. The room had everything I required for my short stay, including extra blankets and heaters for the cold night. It and was very clean. It fits the category of a quiet private hostel room for the right price in a fantastic neighborhood.
Having stayed at various similar hotels in same price bracket, its pretty basic. The Hostel at NewMarket (No9) is the same price, more modern, larger rooms, larger ensuite, has Aircon, TV works, harder beds and generally cleaner. I had a long wait as theirs no permanent manned reception, as I bounce thru phone numbers on the front window. No Aircon. Parking is $10. WiFi is free but no signage anywhere (but I worked it out). TV is hilarious - fixed maximum volume with no ability to adjust. Generally clean (ensuite is immaculate), but bedroom wall had a lot of food splatter on it. Bed is medium soft. There's plenty of potential, wish the venue well for the future.

The rear door was open at all times which was convenient to access our car but the manager's apartment is right beside it so still felt safe. Staff were friendly and helpful, at the restaurant too was a lovely staff member but the food could have been a little more exciting. Bedroom was very hot as we were north facing with no air conditioning but still slept well that night. The bathroom was really dirty though, again everything was so bright with the sun beaming in and no way to block it out. There is another floor of rooms below the main floor that I suspect are tenanted by long-stayers, the smell of cannabis wafted through the stairwell anytime you walked past. In the carpark there was dried toilet tissue and fecal matter that hadn't been properly washed away, it all clearly came from a flooded sewerage overflow which was a bit gross but I imagine this happens any time it rains heavily due to where the carpark is situated down a steep driveway at the back of the property. You get what you pay for, Parnell is a lovely part of Auckland and you are situated right in the heart of it.

The room was very clean But when I rang about the remote not working didn't get a reply. Discovered later there was no battery in the remote. No wonder it didn't work.
Their guests were very inconsiderate making lots of noise around 10 and then at 12.45am . 10 hot points in the room but no USB . I forgot to take my adapter !
Check in Staff were very pleasant.
