The lounge / dining area is massive and open plan, with a gigantic handmade wooden dining table that can seat 20 or more. But there are plenty of cosy nooks where you can curl up with a book or a coffee.
Gather around the wood burner In the colder months for the ambiance, while a powerful heat pump helps keep the large space toasty warm.
In summer, enjoy outdoor dining on a large deck outside, and take your pick of woodfired pizza oven, charcoal grill or gas BBQ.
The property boasts 4 bedrooms (3 doubles and one room with 2 single beds.
The master bedroom has a large ensuite travertine marble bathroom, while there is a second very large bathroom with shower and separate bath that adjoins another bedroom and also serves other guests.
The large country kitchen is fitted with a 6-ring gas burner and electric oven, with all the appliances and implements you could need to cook up a storm.
We have masses of books, games and magazines to wile away the evening hours or rainy days, And of course those amazing West Coast black sand beaches are only a few minutes’ drive away.
A 5-minute drive finds you in Mokau, where there are cafes, a newly built museum, a butcher’s shop and a store selling bread, milk, eggs and other essentials.
In Mokau there is also beach access, and you can spend hours wandering the driftwood-littered beach, and enjoying protected swimming areas in the tidal river estuary.
