Relaxation sets in immediately upon arrival at Villa Falkenstein. The historic spa architecture house is nestled in the unspoilt nature of the picturesque Kirnitzsch Valley, between Kirnitzsch and the edge of the forest at the foot of Ostrauer Berg. The villa is easily accessible by car via a quiet residential road. From the windows and balconies of the apartment, the view sweeps over the forests of the national park, the golden sandstone cliffs and the sparkling Kirnitzschbach stream. Opposite our holiday residence, the Kirnitzschtalbahn railway runs through the entire valley, past the Ostrauer Mühle mill and the Beuthenfall waterfall to the Lichtenhainer Wasserfall waterfall. The historic narrow-gauge railway, 30% of whose energy requirements are covered by solar energy, winds its way along the bizarre rock formations of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. In the other direction, the tram reliably takes its guests from the national park to the centre of Bad Schandau. The town centre can also be reached on foot after a 20-minute walk along the idyllic Flößersteig trail. Alternatively, you can stay on this side of the Kirnitzsch river and stroll through the picturesque spa gardens, past secluded fountains, water features and magnificent old trees towards the market square and the Elbe.
