Yes it was good very friendly receptionist n helpful. Bfast not much variety but ok for us vegetarian n need a bit more on gluten free. Overall the hotel is lovely n comfortable. Clean n friendly.

Lovely place but rooms need an update

Lovely building and reception, staff were soo welcoming but the room is in desperate need for an update. All appeared very clean but there was a strong damp smell in our room which wasn’t very pleasant.

Breakfast was good!

Bedroom was okay was very warm so managed to get old sash window to open 50mm, but we were woken at 4am buy the plant room firing up so shut the window but still could hear it no more sleep!!! The bathroom had very little ventilation, and no extraction fan. We found that the staff were reactive but not proactive in general we felt the hotel looked very tired.

Hotel is OK, but has not moved on much from the last time I stay over 13 years ago!! Confusing breakfast ordering system that for me failed miserably! Going down for a standard continental breakfast only to be presented with Porridge I did not order and a slate plate with pastry’s yogurt and some nut thing?! when I had already had two weetabix, and toast, orange juice and a cup of tea, maybe trying to given another “continental style” breakfast, but for me it failed and was confusing & unnecessary!!

Weekend stay

The staff were helpful we changed room to a ground floor room as my wife has a mobility problem. The room was poorly decorated with wallpaper coming off of the wall.

Cold Room

Arrived fairly late to find the room had the windows left open, this meant the room was quite cold, not helped as apparently, the heating isn't turned on. The night desk was unable to either turn the heating on or offer an alternative room.

Good staff, tired condition

The staff are struggling with post-covid startup... eg breakfast one day was a calamity, waited 35 mins for anything to appear on my table... another day it was fine. Meal choices are currently limited and not very good. Staff really try to be helpful and service is good elsewhere. The whole hotel décor, and rooms in particular, needs a face lift. My window wouldn't close completely, so road noise the whole time, and the bathroom towel rail didn't work. Simple things I'd like to see... better wi-fi, the free option up/download limits are not generous.... more beer choices at the bar

Pleasant if worn.

Friendly, pleasant staff. Room old and worn in places. chair very wobbly and didn't look like it would last much longer. Comfortable bed and nice firm pillows though, and a decent hot shower. Would happily stay here again as very convenient for work at the hospital.

Very pleasing overnight hotel stop

We stayed here for one night on our way home from our holiday in Dorset. It was just as the Coronavirus pandemic was taking hold. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and took all precautions. The food in the bar and breakfast was very good. Our room was comfortable and spacious.

Best western Banbury

Breakfast was nice. Since the last time we went the restaurant has closed at night but you can get bar food.
