John, the host was very welcoming and helpful. My family and I had a great time fellowshiping at the lodge. The home has plenty of room to spread out and enough space to come together as a group.
We enjoyed time with our extended family over the Labor Day holiday. The lodge was large enough to accomadate all of us, numbering 20, comfortably. The fire pit was great for us and the neighborhood was quiet, the woods around the house secluded. The host, John, was very helpful and available. We would rent there again if the family decides to return to the area.
Our church group had a great time at the cabin. It is definitely large enough for 30 people with plenty of parking spots. Definitely recommend for those looking to go as a large group. Plus location is great as it is very close for things skiing or sledding.
Great location. VERY kind owners. PLENTY of room for even a group of 18 adult males looking to cut loose. All the amenities you could imagine, plus an immeasurable dose of hideaway charm!
We brought a large group of 27, and this house was perfect for our needs. It has beds for 30, plenty of bathrooms, great dining room/meeting space, and John was a super host!
The house was in an amazing location and there were plenty of attractions within a short drive of the house. John was the most helpful host we have ever worked with, he was easily accessible the entire weekend and called to welcome us upon arrival. The house was great for our large group with amazing features - a favorite of ours was the piano! We definitely recommend this house!
John is an amazing host. He was very responsive to questions and did everything he could to ensure our stay was was a good one. My family loved our visit to his log house!
We love this house! Our youth and college group has been staying here on our annual ski trips for the last 10 years and it never disappoints. John is a wonderful host and will take care of any needs that might arise. Highly recommend!
One of my favorite houses I have stayed at! The location was great and slept 20 of us comfortably with room for more. Not only that the host, John, was incredible. His attention to detail with your stay and quick communication allowed for a great stay. He genuinely wants everyone to enjoy themselves. One of the most patient and understanding hosts Ive had!
A few Alumni members of our baseball team stayed here and enjoyed their experience. Everything was clean and well-looked after. The communication with the property manager was especially good. The directions were clear. All info we needed was provided. The building's history is very interesting. All around good stay.
We loved this cabin! Our church group stayed in this cabin for the weekend while we volunteered with Samaritan’s Purse. Upon check-in, the owner called to welcome us and give a short orientation. He was very attentive to our needs through out the entire weekend. Everyone in my group absolutely loved this cabin. It allowed us to all be together in one setting but have our own individual rooms. I have continued to communicate with the owner since our visit and have become fond friends through communication. I’ve even already booked with them again for next year!
Thank you for allowing us to stay at your place. We really enjoyed it!
Property is beautiful and had more than enough room and space! We booked this house for friends and family to stay during our wedding weekend. All the guests had great things to say! John the host was very communicative and responsive. The only thing to note is that it wasn’t communicated to us until 3 days before our stay that paper products such as toilet paper and paper towels are not provided. It would have been nice to have that stated in the listing (had to coordinate buying that after I had already started traveling). Otherwise, it seemed like everything else you would need was there!
Our Group had a great time at the Great Escape Lodge. Plenty of space. Everything was very clean. Everything was in working order. I would definitely stay here again with our Group. The rustic character of this house added to our retreat experience. The host was always available to help with any questions.
Our large extended family of 24 spent a week there in this historical log house. PLENTY of room for all of us to eat and play games. The yard was private with a fire pit and the grandkids had fun running around. An artic blast hit but the heaters and living room fireplace kept us plenty warm! And it even snowed for us Floridians!! John was always available for any questions or concerns. And the ski resorts are very close by! Great memories to be cherished!
