Best place to stay if you have a car and if you like a quiet spot. Right in the mountains with a great views of the Tungurahua volcano, very close to the "casa del arbol " which is an unbeatable spot for the view of the volcano. Rooms are more like small bungalows , very spacious with very comfortable beds.
We absolutely loved our stay there.
Very Nice Hotel up in the Mountain (20 min in taxi from the city center).
Near the columpio la casa del arbol and columpio extremo.
Nice place, clean and staff friendly.
The property was very nice and the customer service was excellent. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. We would recommend and definitely stay there again.
Beautiful place with amaizing views. The staff was very friendly and as we had own fireplace in the room, they put a fire on it every night, which was really good while the nights were cold. The hotels location is quite far away, but there are bus going to town, or you can hike down and come back by bus or a taxi as we did.Breakfast was inclueded and it was delicious. Enjoyed our time there, 4 nights.
My stay was charming and comfortable. The service Roberto provided was exceptional. This is a family run Hostel up in the mountains. It is quiet, clean and the bed is comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, all food is locally grown from their farm. The mountain view is breathtaking. There is a welcome fire burning in the lobby. We had breakfast by it in the morning and sat around it in the evening chatting in spanish with Roberto.
NOTE: This is up in the mountains, not in town as it is mapped on this site. It is a $10 taxi up and back or you can catch a bus. The bus runs at specific times. The actually name is LAS ORQUIDEAS Casa de Campo. Telephone: 0986628845 / 0988104853. FB: Hostaria las Orquideas Rutun
PS. The shower had cool water and wifi only works in the lobby.
Wonderful! fairly long drive from the main road, but worth it.

The hotel is beautifully set on top of a mountain with beautiful views, farm animals, and very quiet. Perfect for a romantic getway! They will light the fireplace in your room or candles and breakfast was wonderful. The owner was very helpful. 9 km from town, so you need a rental car to get around since there aren't any taxis around. Located only a couple of km from the swing at the edge of the world.
These are some of the nicest people I have ever met. It is a family run operation and they will do everything in their power to get you whatever you need. The service was excellent, and at the same time you really found yourself immersed in this amazing forest/jungle setting. It was fun watching the pet llamas mow the lawn. The hotel is a bit out of town, but that is nice because it is quieter and not overrun with tourists. It is easy to catch a bus into town or take a very cheap taxi. I recommend this hotel to people who want a genuine experience in Ecuador and tranquility with an incredible view.
Overall we liked staying here. The treehouse was cosy and cool with a view of the volcano when the clouds cleared. The place had a cosy vibe and helpful staff. The breakfast wasn't huge but enough and the bread and juices were some of the best we've had in Ecuador. My only gripes were: the location shown on the expedia map was very wrong - this place is about 8km up the hill by car ($10 taxi ride each time). It is shorter if you walk up/down the big hill to town. We embraced this as an excuse for physical activity but would have been good to know. Also the wifi didn't work, nor did the credit card facilities (though they advertise having them). But overall we enjoyed our stay, (extending it an extra night) and liked the staff, the peacefulness, and resident kitten.
It was a great place. Beautiful scenery. Great service and food. The hot water did not get very hot. It was not located in Banos as the map showed. So we had to get a taxi to take us about a 20-30 minute drive away. That was not what we were hoping for. But the place was very nice so it turned out ok in the end. Also i paid online but the hotel said that i had to pay again in cash. Since the atms are in the town of Banos I was once again unhappy with the lack of correct information I recieved about this hotel. However the hotel was very nice.
Our stay was amazing! The hotel is run by the family. Oliver and his mother were exteremly wonderful and polite! The farm is up in the mountains with beautiful views. Oliver was kind enough to take us on a hike and to another house where the was a huge swing that hangs on a cliff over looking a incredible view of the neighboring town. If you want to get the blood flowing this is how you do it! The hotel is about 15 minutes from town but absolutely worth the taxi ride. Gonzalo our taxi driver took us around and showed us all of the beautiful cascades and brought us to an awesome "canopy" or zip line the "double speed" well worth it! We stayed for three nights and made amazing friends Oliver will be missed until our next trip to Baños!
This is a beautiful small, family owned inn. The rooms are nice with basic furnishings and hot water. Some rooms have a fireplace and the owners will light it up at night. The hotel is situated about 8 km away from Banos so it is quiet and the setting is romantic (under a volcano with mountain views). You can see the volcano and mountains on a clear day, lamas in the backyard, parrots and orchids. The owner speaks English so we hired him as a guide for 2 days which was excellent and we had a great time. Breakfast is organic- fruits, eggs, bread, cheese and juices - best we had in Ecuador. The dinners were fantastic as well and the price was right. Overall, we had a great stay, the value was excellent and we felt that the owners would go above and beyond to provide a good service. There was free parking on the property as well. The route to the inn is well marked but it can be challenging to see the signs at nigh because you are driving up the mountains and there can be fog so arriving in the afternoon is a good idea. The payment for the hotel is in cash.
