Room was clean and spacious, bed was comfortable. Staff was pleasant. Website lists a free breakfast but they only offered coffee and juice behind a locked lobby door at 8 am. Also, required a $50 deposit at check in. I have never had to pay a deposit at a motel.
Best place to stay in Barnwell. The facility was very clean, well lit, and conveniently located near all of the shopping and food in town. Rick and his staff were very accommodating and checkin and check out was a breeze. I highly recommend you stay here.
The hotel and rooms are not kept up to par. I do not appreciate that the hotel tries to run my card before I check in. I do not mind the required deposit but I have never had a hotel run for a deposit BEFORE checking in. Staff was very nice.

Ok stay
Hotel is ok. Its an older building. Inside was ok and was clean. Bed was comfortable. Linings and towels were clean.
***DO NOT STAT HERE!!!!*** If I could've given NO STARS I would have! I booked this room for my Mother, as she was going to be driving through my area & me, my husband & my 12 year old son were SUPER STOKED that she agreed to stop over & we would go to her room to visit for a while & swim if it didn't rain. When we got there & visited a few minutes we all got changed to go swim for an hour or so before going to dinner then go home. The pool was locked up. I went into the office to ask if it would be opwn at all that day, the hotel manager (who spoke minimally decipherable English) tells me that since she was the only registered guest, that only she was allowed to use the pool once it was reopened. AND then he tells me that she is not allowed to have "visitors" inside her room & we had an HOUR to leave her room!!! The tub had pubic hairs all in it & the 1 chair in the room looked like it had 70 years of caked on dirt. There was NO WARNING of any of these BS policies when I booked the room for her & as we were getting back in our vehicle to leave, some junkie looking dude walks out of a room & asks me if I smoke weed!!! I told him in not so many words to go away.

This hotel is old and someone tried to fix it up themselves, but it didn't turn out very well. When we got there, the sheets were dirty and stained, and one of the blankets had a burn mark from a cigarette. The bad do-it-yourself job is everywhere, with paint splattered all over the mirrors and walls. If you're just looking for a basic hotel, then this is the one for you. The shower head was really high, so water splashed all over the floor since the curtain couldn't keep it contained. They didn't have breakfast available, and they charged us an extra $150 just in case we accidentally damaged something. If you pay with cash and forget about the charge, they keep your money (that's not fair, but let's move on). At least it was quiet and the air conditioning worked well once we figured out how to use it. The housekeeper came and quickly changed the sheets and blanket when I told the front desk about the problems we had.
Overall the room was clean. However, it didn’t have soap and I had to call the front desk for soap. It didn’t have any of the little lotions or shampoos that most motels/hotels would have in the room. Even though there is a pool it is locked and you have to ask to use it and wait for the front desk to open it. That gives the sense that the pool is not on use which would maybe explain why we were the only ones using it. So if you want to use the pool, ask the front desk. I’ve stayed there before and it was great. This time around there was a very large family group (over 20 people) there for a family reunion. They were not very considerate of other guests and were very loud. The kids were running everywhere. Adults standing outside the rooms talking very loudly. Needless to stay we didn’t really get to sleep. Also, we had a king bed with only 3 small square pillows for 2 people. It’s a king bed. There should have been more pillows and regular size pillows. I don’t get these square pillows.

The staff were extremely pleasant and nice. My biggest thing is cleanliness. I checked in and was made to sign that I was in a no smoking room. Got to the room and someone had definitely smoked in the room cause I am a non smoker and I could smell the smoke. I reported it to the front desk and was told it was a smoking room. I said okay. Just did not want to be held liable for the smell of smoke in the room. The towels were stained. I reported that to the front desk and the gentleman told me rooms that are smoking rooms get different towels and that is why my towels were stained. He did give me a new set of towels that were a little better. When I checked out I could see “smoking” written on some of the envelopes the key cards were in. My envelope did not have “smoking” written on it so I believe I was not told the truth.
The microwave in my room was rusted. The desk clerk at the hotel told me that was because other guests tried to microwave things they should not have. I told him that would not had led to a rusted microwave. Everything stated here was brought to the attention of the front desk clerk.
The hotel is dated.
If you are looking for a overnight quick stay this might be okay but if you need a updated hotel this is not it.

Hotel is one step from demolition. Total neglect to common areas and floors/baseboards in rooms. Outdoor poch/landing are in desperate need of powerwashing.
