My room was next to the cleaners cupboard which was used from 6.45am daily and was very noisy. The noise from other guests was so bad I hardly slept, doors banging, shouting in the corridors, kids running up and down and just as you got to sleep the cleaners started banging their cupboard door, it was unacceptable. Oh and thats apart from the trams outside !

Très bon rapport qualité-prix.

Malgré une facade peu avenante, l'hôtel Alexander se révèle très agréable, avec des chambres rénovées et fonctionnelles. Accueil très agréable, petit déjeuner complet. L'établissement est situé juste en face du parc des expos (Messe), ce qui permet de disposer de nombreuses lignes de tram.

조식은 별로 입니다.

일단 호텔 편의사항이 너무 없어서 불편합니다. 에어컨, 냉장고, 커피포트 가 없어서 불편하고 생각보다는 조식이 먹을만한게 없어서 별로 입니다. 위치는 대로에 있고 트램정류장이 바로 앞에 있어서 이동은 편합니다.

We found this hotel to be very noisy. It was warm and the windows were open. You heard a lot of the nearby rooms activity. There is no staff on duty after 10 pm so if you needed anything, there was no one to call.

Hieno yllätys oli että hotelli antoi eri veloituksetta julkisen liikenteen matkakortin joka oli voimassa vierailun ajan. Ikävää oli että huoneessa ei ollut AC:tä, sietämättömän kuuma yöllä. Hotellin reilu maine sai kolauksen, koska he veloittivat muutamista ylimääräisistä kahvikoneen (huoneen varusteena) kapseleista euron kappale.

Loud and not confortable rooms

THere is no air conditioning in the room. So that this adreess is absolutely to avoid on hot summer days. In my room it was even impossible to open the window because of the big noise coming every 3-5 minutes from the tramway and from the strreet. Big traffic till 2-3 in the night because the Hotel is in front of the internatinal fair of Basel. Nevertheless the Hotel is in front of the Fair and 5 minutees of walk away from the historical City centre of Basel.

Günstiges Mittelklasse Hotel - Nähe Tattoo Basel

Wir sind betreffend des Basel Tattoo 2015 in diesem Hotel gewesen. In Anbetracht der Nähe zur Kaserne Basel, ca. 8-10 Minuten Gehdistanz, sehr günstiges Hotel. Da es einer dieser heissen Tage im Juli in der Schweiz war, war auch entsprechend das Hotelzimmer sehr warm, heiss (keine Klimaanlage). Gutes Frühstücksbüffet. Angeschlossenes Restaurant bietet gutes bis sehr gutes Essen.

Not a three start hotel by any means! Stay Away!

I had to catch a flight in Basel and stayed at the Alexander hotel. Having stayed in Basel at other hotels, I was very disappointed with the hotel itself, the service, the food, the room. Desk staff was nice. I stayed in a family room where we have to go outside on the fifth floor to get to the room. There was absolutely no air conditioning, I had to ask for a fan which did not help much. I had to open the windows but did not feel safe to keep them open since the room was somewhat remote from the main part of the hotel. All the noise from the street came in. The breakfast was subpar and the restaurant dirty. There was a bug in the orange juice container. No free parking unless you park in the street. This hotel is in dire need of renovation. Bathroom was extremely old. I am surprised that Hotels.com has it on its list of recommended hotels for its customers. Will not stay again and do not advise others to do so.

Älteres sauberes Hotel zum günstigen Preis

War nur zum Schlafen im Hotel. Zimmer sind klein, aber für Geschäftsreise ausreichend. Zimmer waren sauber, mit altersbedingten Gebrauchsspuren. Für mich war das für den Preis in Ordnung. Es war sehr heiss und keine Klimaanlage oder einen Kühlschrank für Getränke. Restourants einige in der Nähe.

A proximité du centre de Bâle et du Rhin

De la gare à l'hôtel une demie heure à pied. Les déplacements très faciles en transport en commun permettent de visiter une partie des très nombreux musées et sites architecturaux à Bâle, à Riehen,....ou en Allemagne à Weill am Rhein ou bien encore en France à Saint-Louis.

Strong shower and strong wifi.

I was given a room on the 4th floor in the back. It was nice and quiet. The room was clean. The furniture was old and dilapidated, but I didn't care. I was on a conference trip at the university. The shower was nice and strong, and so was the wifi, and that was all I needed. I had a croissant, cold cuts, and a bowl of fruit every morning with a glass of orange juice and a cup of tea, which I was perfectly happy with. The staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke perfect English. The location was very convenient. The only part that made me a bit uncfortable had to do with the thin walls other guests have mentioned in their reviews. When my neighbors were trying to open their doors at night, it sounded as if they were literally opening mine. It was scary. I also had trouble opening the door with the key and taking out the key after the door was opened, which I think had to do with the worn condition of the building. Overall, I think this is a perfectly sensible place to stay if you're on a business trip.

Magnifique séjour autour de Gauguin

Séjour de 2 jours/1 nuit en famille. Accueil excellent et sympathique. On parle français. On nous donne les informations complètes. Nous étions idéalement placés à la croisées de 4 lignes de trams, Arrêts à 100m., et restaurants à proximité. L'hôtel offre les titres de transports. Les chambres sont grandes et propres. Le quartier est relativement tranquille (excepté les fréquents passages de trams, mais il faut savoir ce que l'on veut). Sans reprendre la voiture. nous avons visité Gauguin é la Fondation Beyeler, le centre ville (Grossbasel, les bords du Rhin, la gare SBB et quelques villages de banlieue. Formidable.
