We had such a lovely stay here, the hotel is a beautiful building in a lovely location between Bath and Bathampton, and the views from our room were amazing. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and our room was perfect for any stay.
A small boutique hotel, we stayed as two couples and were pleased with the high level of attention we received, nothing was too much trouble. On site parking is a bonus in Bath, and the property is around a mile from the city centre. The gardens are tidy close to the property, extending down to the Kennet and Avon and canal, providing a more scenic walking route to the city. Bath has some steep slopes and the gardens here are no exception.
Breakfast was excellent, in terms of both quality and service. The rooms are perhaps a little on the small side by modern standards, but individually and thoughtfully furnished.
We would most definitely use this property again if we were to spend some time in Bath.
We loved the property, it was clean and very comfortable. the breakfast was great and the service was good. it is a longer walk into town then we expected and since we were not use to driving on the left side of the road we wanted a location with free parking on property and 'in walking distance'...I guess walking distance is hard to measure ...for a younger couple it may have been fine. We walked into town and took a cab back since we had walked a lot in town and the walk back was up hill. it is also not the best path and do not walk it after dusk. There is not a restaurant in the hotel for dinner so plan on walking or eat before you arrive. the road the property is on is busy and the drive way is difficult to get out on the main street during peak traffic time. We loved the hotel and would stay again...they have a small bar in the hotel that was great for a drink in the evening.
This is basically a B&B ...old house, very dated. Seems like grandma ‘s house.
Front desk staff Peter recommendation to walk into town was a disaster. Wet grass, mud and pricker bushes all along the path. I ruined a new pair of shoes 😩. If stay take a Uber Into town. 5 min ride...save your shoes and your skin!!!!
Gorgeous out of the city Victorian house. Very wam upstairs in summer and small triple room, but everything else makes up. Lovely staff, bar and breakfast room. And the garden! 20 min walk to city center.
Definitely exceeded expectations. Would stay here again in a heartbeat if I'm ever in that neck of the woods. Beautiful house, beautiful gardens, just far enough from town (away from the crowds) and near enough to hang out there still. Home away from home. Love the teddies in the rooms too!
We didn’t find the welcome particularly relaxing and warm in fact very stuffy and immediately were called by reception stating they couldn’t read my handwriting on the form I filled out!!! Don’t you already have my details from my online booking? I have used thousands of hotels and not once have I had this.
The hotel was quite nice but very quiet with no atmosphere. My partner who has a serious illness (part of the reason why we went) was ill in the night so we overslept a bit. When she asked for some milk for a coffee, after apologising for the late checkout, she was just reprimanded despite explaining she’d been ill in the night and the request was refused stating we could have a coffee when we were out of our rooms!!! Ok we were late and I guess lots of people try it on however this could of been handled much better. We won’t be recommending this place and I would suggest a warmer inviting person works front of house. Very disappointed after paying £130 for a small pokey room.
Beautiful romantic place. Perfect for celebration of our anniversary. Staff are very friendly and thoughtful. Pictures do not do it justice. Highly recommend
Tasburgh House is a Victorian era home that has been converted into a hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the service was excellent.
We enjoyed breakfast in a very pleasant sun room that overlooks Tasburgh house's beautiful estate garden as well as relaxing evenings after a long day of touring. We loved the walk that leads through the garden and then on to a path along the canal where we encountered house boats inhabited by people who holiday by traveling along England's waterways.
A great experience and a great place to stay.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Expensive B+B
Would have been better to have milk of some sort in room, only able to ring for fresh milk between certain times not adequate, facilities very basic
Lovely welcome on arrival and they looked after us very well. It was close to the university, which was ideal for us. We declined breakfast because we wanted to head off early and they provided a takeaway breakfast free (which was unexpected but gratefully received). We had a family room which was comfortable. The bathroom was small but adequate and very clean. Tea and coffee was available in the room and drinks from the bar were reasonably priced.
Local advice on the location was readily provided and the grounds were beautiful. We plan to go back to visit the town this time, not the university.
This place is really special and the service is exceptional. I came in late one night craving something sweet and Sue helpfully found me a brownie and ice cream! She also makes an excellent G&T! The next morning I wanted to head into town and Graham offered to coordinate the delivery of my luggage to the train station so I wouldn't have to come back to the hotel. Brilliant! I walked from the hotel along the canal and it was a highlight of my experience in Bath. I would highly recommend the Tasburgh House if you're staying in Bath! I really want to go back!
Room was clean and nice decor a bit on the small side for the price and only a small shower cubical (no bath) on the the second floor with no lift, comfy bed and staff are amazing and beautiful gardens.
overall it was a good experience and would stay again but ideally for a longer visit (more then 1 night)
I booked this as a birthday present for my sons 21st. I wanted something special but only I had some photos and past reviews for guidance so very apprehensive. However, my son was absolutely delighted with the place. He stated the rooms were fantastic, very clean, amazing views and the staff were all very pleasant and professional.
He described the place as outstanding and requested I contact the hotel to thank them for their efforts.
It’s all the little touches; rooms named after authors, bears in the rooms, home made granola and proper milk in a thermos to make tea in your room. All this with a lovely personal welcome from Sue and the views of Bath make it a wonderful hotel. We’ll be back in spring when we can make better use of the 7 acre grounds.
