This is a beautiful, well maintained property nestled on the banks of the Sol Duc river. The accommodations were very comfortable & offered all the amenities of home. Shelly, the owner, was very responsive to all our inquiries. This was the perfect place for our family of 8 adults to gather & enjoy the peace & quiet of the outdoors. We totally enjoyed our time at the cabin & visiting Olympic National Park. We would definitely consider a revisit in the future.
The two houses were spacious, clean and stocked with kcups and wood - very unusual. My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay and exploring the area. Loved the river and hot tub!
Awesome, stay with guided fishing, hiking, and relaxing at this beautiful property!! Plenty of room for our family to gather and time together. Great location!
The cabin and mancave were fantastic in their own right, but the whole property, from the entrance to the driveway, down to the river, was stellar. would 12/10 recommend.
Loved everything about it, however may I suggest the fireplace be cleaned occasionally. Upon our arrival, we were delighted to see an abundance of chopped wood as it was a cold and rainy day, perfect for a roaring fire. The fireplace was so completely filled with ash it would have been dangerous to burn any wood and my husband spent over an hour cleaning. Beds were very comfortable!
We stayed with our immediate family and really enjoyed the whole experience. Communication between us and the owners was incredibly easy. The main house is exactly how I would like to have had my personal cabin (still just a dream) to be designed for us.
This location was extremely well suited for going to all the hikes, sights, and beaches. I would totally recommend this home to anyone.
Great Home Base for Exploring Olympic National Park
We thought this place was truly special, even better in person than what we imagined based on the photos. The location was perfect for exploring Olympic National Park. We LOVED having the game room for the family to hang out in the evenings, and the hot tub was great as well. The river was fun to explore and the fire pit it area is so nice! We did not have any issues with the internet and we did do some remote work from the cabin.
My family and I stayed at this cabin recently. We have rented many vacation homes over the years but this one by far was the cleanest and most well stocked. The home is beautiful and it fit my family of 10 perfectly.
I would highly recommend this home to anyone visiting the area. It is a quick drive to Forks and in-between the beaches and Lake Cresent. Definitely make time to go kayaking on Lake Cresent it is beautiful, you can rent them at the Fairholme General Store.
Thank you to the owners for sharing their home with us.
From the moment you drive up to the home, you will be speechless. The setting is spectacular, the home is flawless and the hosts are amazing! I can't begin to list all the positives about this home. It is everything in the listing and more. The river, the fire pit area and the man-cave pool table, foosball and spa were some of our favorites. The giant dining table was perfect for our family of 10. The kitchen was so well equipped with high end pans, dishes, silverware and utensils. There was even a large pitcher for our iced tea! The location could not be more central to everything ONP has to offer.
Although everyday we drove 30-60 minutes to see a different area, the setting was so gorgeous we didn't mind at all. We will absolutely be back.
My wife and I took our two daughters (11 yo and 9 yo) and my in-laws to visit the Olympic area. We had a blast! The house was perfect for our group!
Pros:
Central location to all the sights you want to see in Olympic. (The joke with our group was that “everything is an hour from the house.”)
Amenities are great. The game room was a hit with the kids and grandparents. The hot tub was a hit all around. Doing the “polar bear challenge” in the sol duc river was a hilarious end to each day. Cooking meals in kitchen was great bonding.
Cons
If your group likes to go out to dinner or nightlife, you will want to stay closer to a town. This house is perfect for those that want to unplug and relax.
We would definitely stay at this house again and highly recommend it!
Excellent stay! A group of good friends who got together to celebrate turning into "Dinosaurs" at 60 yrs. and again at 70 yrs. into "Fossils"! A fun and relaxing time was had by all, from fossil hunting on Murdock beach to hiking the rain forest at lake Ozette and touring the Makah Cultural tribal museum at Neah Bay.
The cabins were perfect for relaxing around the fire pit, walking the grounds and soaking in the hot tub. The kitchen had all that was needed to cook great meals and the beds were comfortable for all (including the bunks for the younger generation). In addition to the beauty of the log lodges, our hostess thought of all the little touches that make for a great vacation! Thanks so much!!
Good house with some drawbacks given the price point
Overall, this is a great property, in a great location. It is private and easily accessible and we loved the River access and the fire pit with plenty of wood supplied. The cabin was stocked with toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher tabs, Kleenex and garbage bags. There was plenty of soap but not all the showers had shampoo and there was no conditioner. There were a few drawbacks that I will mention for future renters. The first was that the internet hardly worked at all. This was quite an issue for us since multiple people in our party were trying to work remotely and it was near impossible. If you need to do anything at all on the internet, this is not the cabin for you. Another issue was the cleanliness. The bathrooms were good but there was sand all over the floor that we noticed immediately as we entered the property and took our shoes off. The other cleanliness issue was the kitchen. The cabinets were filthy on the inside—sticky and smelly. The smell is strong enough that it tainted the marshmallows and cereal we had in the cupboard. Additionally, one of the drawers kept popping out of its track which was very annoying to have to continuously fix. There was a good stock of plates, bowels and cups and silverware for our large group, but other kitchen items— large bowls, cookie sheets, pots etc are either sparse or in terrible repair—especially for this cabin’s price point. The furnishings and decorations were great and the beds were reasonably comfortable.
Stunning! Absolutely loved every minute of our stay! The grounds are beautiful and fun to explore. The cabins are both so pretty and had everything we needed.
My group of 7 traveled all over Washington over 9 days. This 2 night stay was our favorite. The setting is amazing. It's private and perfectly maintained. If we ever come back this way this would be our 1st choice.
The photos just don’t do it justice, it’s even more impressive in person. Our family spent a week here for my parents’ 50th wedding anniversary, and it was the perfect backdrop to make those once-in-a-lifetime memories. I just genuinely don’t have anything negative to say.
We cannot thank you enough for an absolutely amazing stay. We have traveled extensively and stayed in many beautiful rentals and this one by far is the best. The photos don't capture the grandeur of the setting. The grounds are magical. We enjoyed the peacefulness of the river and surrounding forests. We played music around the campfire and enjoyed the warmth of the indoor fireplace. All the attention to detail and the beautifully decorated space really made for a relaxing and wonderful vacation. Privacy, comfortable beds with great bedding, well stocked kitchen, a back up coffee stash when we ran short on the last morning! great smelling shampoo .. all these little things added up to a fantastic experience. Shelley was quick to respond and always with positivity. A sincere heartfelt thank you for sharing your space. We look forward to referring friends and family. Thanks again and have a great Fall.
The stay was perfect, the property was immaculate and family oriented with plenty to do. Host did not properly communicate before/ during/ and after stay. Believe host to be utilizing situation to obtain more money from my stay. Keeping security deposit, charging for “extra cleaning” and property damage. When none such occurred during our stay. We would have loved to return to the property for future memories to be made. But will not due to the host’s negligence on commutation, and shadiness.

All we hoped for AND MORE!!
This was the perfect place for my family to spend evenings after days of hiking in ONP! The cabins are beautiful...clean and well-maintained with comfortable beds and plush towels and linens. The quiet park-like setting with the river running behind the house kept us in the moment...we even saw a bald eagle outside the window! The kitchen layout served us well as we cooked our breakfasts and dinners, and packed our bag lunches...the crock pot and grill came in handy too! The hot tub and pool table added to the fun. Shelley was extremely responsive and gracious toward our questions and requests! We would love to go back sometime.
This stay was our 50th anniversary celebration with our daughters and their families. The property is amazing. It has so much to offer. The man cave was a huge hit with everybody. The hot tub felt great after a long day of hiking. The fire pit was a wonderful place to sit and relax together and make smores! The reason I drop the overall rating to a 4 is, it needs a real good cleaning, especially the kitchen. Hardly any of the windows open and the ones that do, have no screens. There is no way to enjoy that wonderful fresh air Inside. We had nice cool weather for the first five days, then it got very hot and the air-conditioning didn't cool the house. Unfortunately the upstairs got very hot. There is a portable fan upstairs so at least it moved the air around. Overall we had a great time in the woods. Thank you for sharing your piece of heaven with us.
Our family wanted to visit Olympia National Park. This location served as a great base. We loved the layout, the man cave, hot tub, fire pit, and more . Location is beautiful.
We stayed the last week in July and everything was wonderful. The cabin is beautiful, plenty of space for us to spread out. My 13 yr old loved exploring the property, looking for slugs and mushrooms in the forest. My almost 18 yr old loved having their own space in the “mancave” and I loved how quiet it was. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen great for making meals when we weren’t going to be out. We also loved how close it was to Olympic National Park and the coast. If we are up this way, we would definitely stay here again.
