"We booked this hotel under the pretense that the resturant was open for business and the taxi price rate was similar to the rest of Ecuador or the reviews in our travel book. Hotel served a nice breakfast BUT no other food is available so one must go into Puerto Ayora for lunch and dinner. The taxi rate to and from hotel into town can be anywhere from $10-$15 each way..... if u want to freshen up after a long tour that will be 4 taxi rides......$40-$60 per day. "After we finally got checked in, turned the AC on and it was not cold. Owner told me it would cool down and to let her know if I didn't need it "cold like hers (friend's room) I would be fine but I could switch it in the morning. Let me be clear, the AC did not work AT ALL and when we returned it was hotter in the room than outside at 9pm. Couldn't open the windows or doors because the of the mosquitoes. "Arrived to an iced lemonade waiting for us by the lovely host. Seemed to be a family owned business. They were very helpful. The property was beautiful and the room was exactly as described. The air conditioning was amazing and kept the room nice and cool. Bathroom was sufficient for what was needed. Personally loved the large bottles of shampoo and body wash. Took advantage of the hammocks. We did not eat breakfast there (available for 5$). We just were not up or up too early for the time frame...
