The staff is what makes this hotel great. Ebony is a shining star. Cant say enough about how wonderful she is. All front desk staff is very helpful and friendly.

Receipt from Expedia stated ' check in open 10 am onwards'. Arrived by taxi at 10. Whole place locked up and deserted with sign saying ' back at six'. Found another hotel but el ray was very resistant to refund. Tried hard to keep my money only gave in after heavy pressure from Expedia customer service. In addition hotel is bizarrely located out in a suburban street near to absolutely no amenities....all things considered ASTONISHED this place still in business

Hotel horrible!!

Desde que entramos a ese mal llamado hotel pudimos ver que no cumple con las normas mínimas de limpieza. El baño no lo han lavado en meses, demasiado desagradable. La zona de ducha horriblemente sucia y la cortina plastica negra de mugre en la base. Las sabanas fundas de almohada y almohadas muy sucias. No hay aseo en la habitación. En la noche hubo bulla, gritos, musica estridente, cierre de puertas y apertura fuerte generando tal incomodidad para conciliar el sueño que no dormimos nada. No hay a quien acudir porque no permanece n as fie en el mostrador. Mo nos explicamos como tienen en esta empresa tan importante un hotel si es que se le puede llamar asi, tan malo, tan sucio y tan mal atendido. Es el peor hotel que hemos ocupado.

The facility is going through a restructuring, therefore, the environment is not as organized as before, the last two times, when I stayed there. Hopefully, El Rey will post when the restructure is completed. The staff are great, and are doing their best to make Tenants as comfortable as possible. Overall I felt safe while staying there.

This is worst lodging that I have ever seen and It does not deserve to be even considered for a rating . It was so bad that I immediately left and found lodging elsewhere. My request for a refund was denied, This looks like a run down, delapidated Brothel . Expedia should Not be promoting lodging of this type. Please refund my money.

The picture of the room and lobby that the hotel shows on its website differ greatly from what you find when you arrive at the hotel. The rooms are very humid, the internet service is terrible, the connection is down all the time. There is no cable service, they have Netflix as the only provider, although they mention that they also have Disney plus and amazon prime, it is not true. In the windows, one had mosquito netting and the other did not, I had to fight with the mosquitoes that were in the room. The curtains in the bathroom were broken and dirty, I have pictures of it all. They never cleaned the room. I asked for an invoice, and they told me that by hotel policy, if I wanted an invoice, it would increase the price, more than the price I had already paid through XPEDIA. I will not return to this hotel, and I do not recommend anyone to visit it.

When I booked the property through Expedia, i was charged for my stay at that time. However, when I arrived I was charged an additional $60.00. I toldthe lady at ththe desk that i had already paid during the reservation/booking process, but she charged me anyway.

Friendly staff were the main plus. Also it is in a quiet residential area. The property itself (at least the standard rooms) verges on being a dump by US standards. The AC did work and we had out own bath, but it was so cramped that it was pretty difficult to navigate. The towel rack and door closer cobbled together out of repurposed clothes hangars riveted to the door were emblematic. Overall, if you really just need a place to sleep and are not picky about aesthetics, go for it.

The staff was great. They always had a smile and were willing to help my family. My room was always cleaned and beds were made avery single day. The supermarket and restaurants were just of a walking distance. I love my stay at El Rey Hotel. Totally recomend it.

The front staff Emory was soooooo welcoming and helped us settle in quickly. He is a great person to chat with about local issues or to confirm your travel plans. The morning breakfast was a typical Belizian and was cooked amazing with the BEST coffee! Can’t wait to stay at El Rey again. Great location made us feel safe. Convenient to get to grocery store if needed

Its not the best place I have stayed at, I think its a little over priced. Nothing to do around, I guess its what it is, Belmopan doesnt have much to offer anyway.
