We are a family of six adults and three young children. This four bedroom home was perfect for Sunriver vacation. The bedrooms are located on different levels of the house which gave everyone privacy and the top level open floor living area gave us space to all be together. The deck looks out on the fourth hole of the golf course which was entertaining. The kitchen is well supplied. We had everything we needed for cooking our meals. The rental included 7 adult sized bikes and 8 Sharc passes which we enjoyed. It was very hot the week we were there and because the house has no air conditioning we had to be proactive about closing the house during the day to try and keep the nighttime cool air. The blinds were a bit tricky to operate but one member of our group got the hang of them so we managed. All in all this was a great rental.
Really enjoyed the setting being by the golf course. This was the second time we stayed at this property. There were some stains on some of the bed pillows. Guess that’s just what comes with a rental as normal wear and tear?
Check process was easy fans were absolutely necessary for the hot days.
Thank you.

Very Nice
An excellent overall property. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and dishes. Decks and view of the golf course was very nice. Pool table, ping pong table plus lots of board games provided a choice of activities at the house. Tennis courts across the street were not heavily used and were well screened. Only disappointment was no lock on the shared bathroom. Even though there is no air conditioning there are lots of fans and excellent window coverings for day use and nights are always cool.
Oh it was a big house with enough rooms for everyone in our family to have their own area. Between ping-pong, the pool table, the spa, living room and upper deck everyone could find their own area to enjoy. It was fun watching the golfers in the orientation of the house kept it in the shade what’s the weather most of the day. It was very hot and once we close it up able to keep it cool we were able to keep it cool all day since it got into the high 90s on a couple of days. Kitchen had plenty of utensils for everything we needed but needed to change some lights because some we’re all out in the hallways. Otherwise a great time was had by all and recommended for a big family. Dean was great and we had an issue with the TV which he got his back on track right. away. 😎
This house is great for 6 adults and 3-4 children. Lots of stairs. Super comfy. Kitchen has everything you need. The location is quite north in Sunriver, so our kids (ages 4, 6, and 7) riding bikes couldn't make it to the Sharc, but could make it to the river. The Sharc is also limiting capacity, so 2 out of 3 days, we couldn't get in. Get there early! Overlooking the golf course is quite entertaining, especially for our golf lover in the group. Our only concern was the condition of the deck which needs to be refinished - our 4 year old got a few splinters. Otherwise, this place is awesome and we'd love to return!
Stayed for a week, 6 adults and 2 young children. The layout of the home gave everyone space to themselves. Billiard table, hot tub, and bikes were enjoyed. Plenty of seating on large deck was a big plus, and we ended up having most of our meals there. 8 SHARC passes, 6 bikes of various sizes (all for adult/teen, none for small kids). Surprised by deer in the back yard several times. Comfy beds, all kitchen amenities were provided. Made for a wonderful week.
Another incredible stay at this property and I’m sure it won’t be the last. The home is perfectly appointed. Beautiful view from the deck. It’s super spacious.
Very nice home. This is our second stay here. Our only minor criticisms are the same as last time we stayed here two years ago. Both of the master bedrooms have only one nightstand next to the bed. This is a real inconvenience for couples that each want to keep personal items such as a clock, phone, water, etc next to bed for easy access. Also, the living room has ample seating space but only one reading lamp. If more than one person needs light to read, the overhead room lights have to be turned on.
This property is the best! We have been staying in Sunriver for 30 years and I think it was unanimous that this is our favorite location. This house has a equipped with everything you will need and the kitchen is full of quality stuff. The deck was our favorite and the weather was perfect so we were able to enjoy it daily.
The property is very well equipped and maintained. We enjoyed relaxing and eating meals on the deck. The only issue we had was with the SHARC access but that is a homeowners association issue. We had a wonderful stay with our children and grandchildren.
Ideal location on the golf course. Large luxury home. No A/C.
Pros
Excellent location on hole number 4 of The Woodlands golf course. You can watch the golfers on the green and then look the other way to see all the way to the tee box a few hundred yards away. The house is luxurious with very nice kitchen cabinets, high ceilings in some rooms, gorgeous large master shower-room, and in general updated and well maintained. Large three-car garage with nice bikes and Ping-Pong table. Plenty of kitchenware. Beautiful setup for the deck overlooking the golf course, nice landscaping, generous space between the house and the neighboring houses.
Cons
Think twice if you plan to rent the house anytime during June through September. You’re rolling the dice on hot weather. We arrived June 29th at the 4 pm check-in time. The temperature outside was 105 degrees, which was a record high for Sunriver. The upper floor—kitchen and living room—inside the house was at 90 degrees. The bottom floor was at 81 degrees. The house has no air conditioning. So, the temperature in the house stayed hot throughout the next two days. Inside, it only drop to around 73 degrees by early the second morning.
Being a large house, there are many windows to open and close to get the best cooling at night--31 windows total, with many in the top floor you’ll need to get on your hands and knees and crank them to open. Doesn’t sound like a big deal until you have done this chore 10 times over a five-night stay.
A few other niggling details that you might expect from a rent-by-owner: good luck getting the living-room TV to operate. It’s a complex system involving many stereo and internet devices and many remote controls; the instructions in the binder are for the old system. When I brought this to the owner’s attention the last day of our stay he didn’t address this point.
Nice Hunter Douglas blinds in many rooms. However, several of them wouldn’t stay up, so you could never look out of those windows. Also, the blinds let in a lot of light, so the master bedroom is very bright when the sun comes up before 6 am in the summer. There is no way to block out the light.
The service “Girl Friday” to call for any issues was slow in responding. I needed to contact them several times and even then, it took till the next day to get needed plastic kitchen garbage bags.
The garage and exterior stairs and porch hadn’t been swept in a while.
Nice high-end pool table, but the room space a bit tight.
Not enough kitchen towels. Master bedroom light switch not working.
A perfectly appointed house that met all of our needs!
This is the second time renting the house for our family vacation. The home is wonderfully spacious to find alone time but has great areas for people to gather together. It has everything we needed and more!
The home is lovely with beautiful views of the golf course. We enjoyed hot evenings on the deck watching golfers and enjoying the breeze. The home is perfect for two families and has ample space for the kids to play pool, hot tub, etc.
The home does not have air conditioning and remains very warm in the late afternoon and early evening. It was in the low 90s while we were there and the main floor/master bedroom remained about 80 degrees despite the fans. The lower bedrooms were quite cool and comfortable. I mention this in case someone is sensitive to the heat.
We would definitely rent this house again and enjoy this lovely property!!
Beautiful place in a great location. Expansive view of the 4th fairway on the Woodlands golf course. The house was very accommodating for multiple families with all the amenities including bikes, ping-pong table, tennis rackets, hot tub, etc. Our teenage daughters and their friends had a blast! Definitely coming back.
This is a beautiful home that is well located for all activities in Sunriver and or Central Oregon in general. The home is very well equipped and functional.
Great house right on Woodlands golf course. Very nice deck with view of golf course and nice and ample furniture for dining outside for 10+ people. Living and indoor dining areas also very comfortable for large group. Communication with Dean (the owner) also very good. We had a question on operation of the blinds and got a call back from the owner that same day. Our only minor complaints were: no cabinet storage for food items . Master bedroom has night stand and lamp on only one side of bed . The living area has only one reading lamp and not enough end tables for all seating. Overall, a great house that we would recommend and would definitely stay in again.
