Around 7 miles to the east, the Northumberland Coast Path and the causeway to the majestic Holy Island await. Cross at low tide to explore the island and Lindisfarne Castle. A little further along the coast, the historic village of Bamburgh awaits with its quaint shops, the RNLI Grace Darling Museum and dramatic seafront castle. Golfers will be spoilt for choice staying here, with courses at Goswick, Bamburgh, Wooler, Berwick and Seahouses.
Set within the grounds of the former corn mill, this property offers peace and privacy. Arrive via the long driveway and cross the bridge. Step inside to find everything laid out across a single story (with one step up into the bedroom). The kitchen/diner welcomes you with slate floors, high ceilings, original beams and hand painted cabinetry adding charm and character Cook up a romantic meal and dine at the table whilst listening to music on the Bluetooth speaker. The calming tones of the lounge, where comfortable seating surrounds a wood burner and Smart TV, set the tone for cosy evenings watching a film, reading a book or playing board games. Local artwork throughout the property lends a distinct sense of place. Step up into the bedroom featuring a double bed dressed with luxurious linens whilst blackout curtains and blinds make for restful nights. The gleaming bathroom (off the kitchen) is fitted with a shower over the bath for convenience.
Savour the Northumberland air from the privacy of your generous garden, a real sun trap, with patio and lawned areas as well as the burn trickling through. Enjoy a drink under the parasol whilst watching the birds nesting in the walls, the trout rising in the burn or a squirrel leaping across into the woodland. Explore the wider grounds, which are beautifully maintained and where you will find further seating areas. See the changes throughout the seasons from the thousands of snowdrops in spring to the cornflowers lining the riverbank in summer or pick fruit from the trees.
