The property was chosen for the location! The room was clean but very tiered! The breakfast was adequate! If you can afford a little more per room then do it If you’re going to stay there I suggest wearing ear plugs when you go to bed!(very noisy roads)

Quirky little gem of a hotel

Love this little gem of a hotel. Quirky and all the rooms are very different but always comfortable. Staff are always very helpful and welcoming and breakfast and wifi is included which is a nice touch at this price range. Don't expect 5* or a perfectly maintained hotel but you will have a comfortable and great value stay in a nice location with plenty of free parking.

Checked in early evening with no problem, free upgrade to suite on 2 floors with a four poster bed! Some of the complaints in previous reviews seem to expect Premier Inn facilities forgetting that this is a ex-16th century coaching inn and it certainly shows its age, but it is a lot cheaper. Yes, the websites need updating as they still give the impression with photographs that it has restraunt & bar facilities, but it does state they are 'coming soon'. The decor is dated and rather tired but the gentleman who checked us in and was in attendance during breakfast was very helpful.
Painting of the original look of the Coaching Inn
The suites seperate private bathroom
Breakfast room with a lot of original decor
Our suite, very spacious ;-)

This is a lovely and really old property with very interesting features. Unfortunately it is not now used to its full potential but was a comfortable place to stay for a night. We had everything we needed even though one or two places could do with updating. Meals, other than a buffet breakfast, are not provided, so it would be necessary to find somewhere else for an evening.

Good for price, pleasant area near Bicester, some rooms face road, although not much traffic, cars passing can be disturbing. Other rooms are quiet. Overall good

The property was lovely - but sadly in need of repairs- our room was clean and acceptable - we got what we paid for - staff were friendly enough - shame about the overall appearance of what was a beautiful building at some point - the water wasn’t good to drink at all - so advise not to drink

unfortunate

this stay is misleading. the Jersey arms is not a public house, it does not do meals, and the layout is cramped but adequate.

Do not belueve the pictures

Not what we were expecting. Pictures portray a country pub in the cotswolds. In reality this is a very rundown buIlding which was once a pub giving an amateurish attempt at a B&B.

Very interesting coach house but sadly in need of restoration. Our room number 9 was very nice but had a dangerous step from seating area to bed.

The Jersey Arms was nice, old and full of character though no mention of bar & restaurant being closed for refurbishing! Staff were very helpful and rooms were very clean though bed not very comfy on mattress though nice to include simple breakfast although I don’t participate but my friend did

A stay of 2 halves

A tale of2 halves, first night the room we stayed in was not great, see photos. Second night we were moved to another room which was so much better. Staff were so helpful, couldn’t fault them. I agree both with the 1 star and 5 star reviews that I’ve seen, it’s all dependent on the room you are in. Make sure you don’t pick a standard room! Saying all that I would stay again, it’s not far from Bicester village and there are some lovely pubs nearby. Breakfast is basic, but ok, just pastries, toast and yoghurt

Lovely Stay at The Jersey Arms

I had a lovely stay. The location was perfect for me and the receptionist or manager was really helpful and thoughtful. He gave me a room with a bath as requested, helped carry my luggage and provided a quiet space for a conference call with tea and coffee. I couldn’t fault the service. And an ample continental breakfast was included in the room rate.

This property is nothing like advertised - it is extremely run down and in need of complete renovation x the pub side of it is shut so no hope of food or drink . It’s very very disappointing and we were unable to have a refund so had no option but to stay x the bedroom wasn’t too bad once you got past the musty entrance although only one towel for two people ( could of asked for more I suppose ) . The receptionist was in fact quite helpful and very apologetic but couldn’t refund us x the pub side was shut so no food or drink x the whole place is very sadly rundown but could be amazing x it’s very grubby and damp - although the heating was working in the bedroom x I would not recommend this place to anyone

Checked out almost immediately

The room was not well cleaned, there was no working bar and I started to feel itchy. The room was single glazing next to a busy road. Shortly after check-in, I checked out and went to another hotel.

Another place charging excessive amount for a dog

Friendly staff. The room and bedding was clean. Continental breakfast was satisfactory. Disappointed that there was not a bar or evening meal available. All in not bad value for less than £60 The downside was thenow ubiquitous charge for our dog. £20 for what? Nothing. He has his own bed, his own food, doesn't shed hair. This is becoming all to common now

Jersey Arms

It was easy to find and the car park had a clear sign. The reception was also clearly signed. The receptionist was welcoming. The room was superficially clean but when I turned over the pillow there were black dots all over it. The bed was nicely presented but when I untucked it the sheets were still damp. The en-suite was a good size but the whole toilet wobbled from the base, when you sat on it. I accidentally went to the wrong room, my key opened the door fine - a shock to me and the relaxing occupants. Thankfully the room door had chains on the inside. I would’ve reported this but there was no one around in the morning.
