Your ski day starts on the front porch. Powder Ridge Cabin Red Cloud 1B sits right on the White Otter Access, steps from the White Otter chairlift. You click into your bindings outside the door, with no shuttle, no parking lot and no boot-walk.
Glide down the groomed access to White Otter, ride up, and follow an easy green route to the Big Sky base area and its heated lifts. At the end of the day, take Lower Morningstar to the Powder Ridge exit and cruise back to your door. Because home is this close, midday is easy. Come back for a hot lunch at your own table, thaw out by the wood-burning fireplace, swap a layer, and head back out while everyone else waits in the lodge line. If the little ones are done by noon, they can hang back in the game room while the rest of the crew keeps lapping.
A boot warmer and bench at the entry make getting out the door simple, and you’ll find a garage and a washer and dryer for wet layers. You’ll start every morning in warm, dry boots.
Sink into the private hot tub on the patio with mountain views. Gather around the wood-burning fireplace in the great room, with wood provided. The open kitchen has stainless appliances, bar seating for 4 and dining for 6. Downstairs, the den has a gas fireplace, pool table, foosball, air hockey and a Wii for après battles. Out back, the deck has a propane grill and plenty of seating.

Ski Access:
Located directly on the White Otter Access next to the chair lift. Anticipated opening date for White Otter lift is mid December, but the lift may open earlier in the season depending on snow conditions. The lift typically closes in mid April, prior to resort closing. The cabin is not ski-in/out when White Otter Lift is not running. Please inquire for details.
Ski Out:
Put skis on in front of cabin. Follow the groomed access below the White Otter chair lift which will take you to the loading point for this lift. There is one flat section in the approach to the lift, so try to maintain some speed. Exit White Otter Lift and turn left. Cross to the right of White Wing Run and follow the sign on skier’s right for Big Sky Base Area. This is a hard right and requires keeping up your speed. From there you can access the new heated lifts the Explorer Gondola, Swift Current, and Ramcharger. (Green access)
Ski In:
Follow Lower Morningstar to the SECOND set of Powder Ridge signs as indicated on the map. Exit here to skier’s left. Follow the signs towards the White Otter Access. Cross over the White Otter skier access bridge. At the end of the bridge turn right before the larger set of trees and then follow until you cross under White Otter Chair lift. Exit the White Otter access trail before the set of 2 garages and cross the road back to the front of your cabin. (Green access)
