"Location is super convenient for Mt Rushmore. I will say that the online info on hotels.com states that it’s an 18 minute WALK to mt Rushmore. This is untrue. I thought maybe there was a cute little back path or cut thru to make this viable since it’s also a 10 minute drive. Not the case. It would take *awhile* to walk there and a lot of it uphill next to a road with cars going quick. Just in case you saw the walk distance and thought “yay”! The hotel was clean and in decent shape but it’s definitely on the older side. The rooms are fairly dark. We were in one of the 2 queen suites with a pullout couch and that was perfect for our fam of 5. The mini fridge was helpful. The staff was super friendly and answered Qs for us before and after arriving! Pool was a nice break for activities altho it’s a pretty shallow pool (good for kids!). Parking was easy, check in was easy. The breakfast selection was standard… waffle makers, eggs, sausage, cereal, bagels, bread and a pastry I think. Apples, bananas, yogurt. What was missing was oatmeal and hard boiled eggs which a lot of places will have as an option. Overall it was a fine place to stay and we’d do it again - we’re not really staying there for the hotel experience, just the convenient location and decent pricing but it was still nice enough :)"
