"Lovely little hotel above a very noisy (weekend) pub! Had a large room facing the street. Was told things get noisy on Friday and Saturday nights - they weren't lying, it was CRAZY. Had ear plugs and eye mask and was up all night. Couldn't open the windows for air, so many smokers outside the pub. Wish they had given us a discount on pub food considering we were there for 5 nights. The vertuo coffee machine didn't work, daily fresh baked cookies were a nice touch. It's fine, it's cute but brace yourself for the weekends."

"Restaurant/ bar/spa Staff made the trip, friendly professional and knew what it meant to make a memorable stay. Rooms VERY tired. First room smelt of body odour. Second room bathroom literally falling apart. Cracked sink, everything leaked. Heating so unbelievably hot but unable to turn it off even after reporting to staff. Slept with windows wide open all evening. Lovely location, quiet and peaceful. "

"Lovely surprise of a well priced clean, modern and very comfortable small hotel. Staff were very friendly, atmosphere was relaxed and the food was excellent. The restaurant dinner prices were very high for a non London hotel but the food was good quality. "

"room wasn't cleaned properly, exterior of hotel was starting to look shabby, the evening meal was a disaster Staff tried hard but got the impression management was cutting corners. We stayed there 15 years ago and it was great but now, no never again"

"Our room was fabulous. We booked a “comfy” room. Bed very luxurious and comfortable. A quirky room due to dormer window being on the top floor. Great location. Although a bit awkward to get in strangely. An old long building - 3 doors and we thought “check in” wouldnt be centre and the bar - lol but it was. Lovely furnishing and atmosphere throughout"

"Could not fault my one night here. Lovely room, comfy bed, big tv, nice big shower and lots of hot water. The restaurant is excellent and very reasonably priced, breakfast looked great but I had not enough time to stop and eat. This place is a great advert for staying in a country pub:-)"

"Not the friendliest of welcomes. A meeting cancellation meant I arrived early but I wasn't allowed to check in. The staff I encountered throughout my stay were distant and aloof. Signage around the sprawling site was poor so I ended up wandering around to find various amenities. For the positives, the room was clean and the breakfast was good quality "
