"Paid for a double room. Ended up in a bunk bed tiny basement room. Absolutely awful. I am 6.4 and 19 stone complete joke. Pillows and bedding shocking. Mattress so thin was awake most of the night. Do not book this appalling hotel £150. Absolute disgrace. I arrived later on in the evening tired and ready for a rest and got this."

"Lovely reception staff, friendly, helpful, asked questions to then recommend things to me proactively-the people do make the difference & they’re doing it right here! Room was very nice-soft bedding & very comfortable bed, great shower, nice looking bath if I’d been staying longer. A few errant hairs from previous occupants but in good condition & very clean otherwise-I’m not annoyed in any way-hairs do happen on cleaning cloths etc-I had no doubt this room had been very well cleaned. Great for loads of local shops & restaurants & right next to principality stadium-I’ve now got a hotel I will look forward to staying in whenever I’m in Cardiff. "

"We have had some lovely stays at this hotel, however, not so great on this occasion. The room was comfortable and the staff helpful. We had a problem with the air conditioning not working and the concierge did try to get it fixed but was unsuccessful so provided us with a floor standing fan which did resolve the problem. Unfortunately though sleep was extremely difficult as there was a bar/nightclub playing very loud music until around 3am, which was out of the hotels control but did definitely negatively affect our stay. However, we would consider staying again if we could have a room on the other side of the hotel."

"Although the early check in was appreciated, for some reason we were given an adapted room. As it was in a quiet area of the hotel we accepted it. I took a shower after checking in but the shower was blocked and flooded the whole bathroom. At 5pm I was told there were no maintenance staff on duty so we had to move rooms. This room was much noisier, on the main road. Not the best nights sleep"

"We came away for a long week to Cardiff, and would not hesitate to stop at the same hotel again. Rooms were clean and spacious, beds were comfy, staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice, and the hotel was in a great location, just a 5 minute walk from the castle, and also Queens Street Station which can get you to Cardiff Bay in a few minutes. Loved every part of the stay."

"I'm only marking this stay so low as the shower was broken; but the way the front desk dealt with it was absolutely appalling and I ended up leaving the hotel in tears because the aggressive, catty man started raising his voice to me. (The tap had no temp control and the shower wouldn't run hot, but it wasn't a huge issue for me so I didn't call down at the time and just needed to eat and then catch my train. I informed them at the front desk of the issues with the plumbing and said I'd appreciate a partial refund as I couldn't shower. Instead of being helpful, I was belittled for not asking for a room change or running the shower for ten minutes in order to hope hot water came through). Honestly, would have been happy with a mere 10% as a token apology."
