We had a fantastic stay wish we had booked longer , few little issues but eric was brilliant and sorted everything out , we would definitely go back . Thank you Eric and Helen you are brilliant hosts .
Meadow Oak was a great place to stay, very clean and comfortable , towels and bedding included and we were supplied with some milk, bread , butter and cereals even though it was self catering, Eric was very friendly and offered us advice on places to visit and the hot tub was a bonus !
Eric was super helpful and provided plenty of information ahead of the stay. He even went the extra mile to drop me off at the nearby Lanhydrock Golf club where I charged my EV (shout out to Mark from the club too for working the charger!). The parking is a little tricky so needs care especially in the dark but a bonus compared to other b&b with none or only on-street parking. Breakfast was self service but use of the kitchen meant you could cook your own eggs. Eric also offered free use of brand new electric bikes and a hot tub but we didn't have time to make use of it. It would be a big bonus if he could add EV charging to his facilities, we'll come back in the future!
The accommodation was excellent. Everything provided that might be needed. Clean with particular emphasis on protection from Covid. Only negative is that we had difficulty locating the property from Bodmin as the small signpost was obscured by bushes. I would suggest trimming those and maybe putting up a larger sign to assist first time visitors.
Eric was lovely and made me feel really welcome. The room is a basic B&B and a little on the small side but honestly I was only there to sleep and given the excellent location (and very reasonable price for the area) it was perfect. You've got a fairly free run of the rest of the house with a lovely large kitchen and garden, way more amenities than I expected, and it appears that there's even more to come. Thanks for the great stay!!
Very pleased with the accommodation. The room was very clean and well equipped and the host very friendly and helpful.
Would recommend this place for short or even longer stay
The property was very clean and Eric is a very friendly host. The challenge for us was breakfast. This is self service but was a bit disappointing. We arrived to have breakfast before going out to a wedding and found only a couple of slices of bread , some cereal and some off milk. Fortunately there was another bottle, but we had to wash our cups and remake the tea. There was no butter jam/ etc readily available. This meant that we ended up going out for breakfast during our stay.
My family enjoyed their stay at the Meadow Oak B&B. Best to say…We will be back! There is no better place for us, everything was top notch. A big thank you to Eric.
We enjoyed out stay at Meadow Oak: parking is a tad fiddly, and we were the first guests since lockdown restrictions were eased, but the location was perfect for us and the owner was very helpful. We offered a few suggestions which were well received.
It is fully self-catering for breakfast, so you still have to tidy and was h your own dishes, and there's no cooked breakfast available which could put some folk off. The accommodation is under the eaves, so I wouldn't recommend it for especially tall guests, but the spa bath was lovely and there was a hot tub outside that the owner offered to get ready for our use (too cold, sadly). Overall a lovely stay for us.
This is a bed and cereal.
I'm looking at my booking from Hotels.com, as i write. It says free bed & breakfast but self-service. No problem there. The previous B&B in Moretonhamstead was self-service. Breakfast there was juice, ground coffee, yoghourt, cereal, toast home-made jams and fruit (also £10 cheaper). At Meadow Oak it was cereal and i don't have cereal for breakfast. I expressed my disappointment to the host who replied that different B&B have different breakfasts and that his was more self-catering. Well it's not self-catering either. The dining room and accomodation are the owners and after we had booked, we were sent a risk assessment notice saying that "Hotel guests will be encouraged to use take-aways rather than to cook at Meadow Oak". So no self-catering then.
The room is fine. The bed comfortable but this is not a good bed and breakfast.
We enjoyed the entire duration of our stay at Meadow Oaks and have no complaints whatsoever. The host Eric was very friendly and resourceful in helping us look at places to visit, eat etc. We also found the COVID safety arrangements sufficient and would definitely return when we get the chance to visit Cornwall/Bodmin area again
Very comfortable base for exploring the surrounding areas. Easy trips to Eden Project and Tintagel Castle plus some nice drives/walks on Bodmin Moor.
Eric was happy to offer suggestions for seeing the wild ponies and for local eateries.
Hope to be back
