"I have been staying at the Birch Hotel for years. It’s comfortable and clean but what I like is it has character not like a typical plastic hotel! Staff always give a warm welcome and helpful with special requests. Bar food is ok a little on the pricey side (maybe normal though these days) and basic but something for everyone. As it is close to the town centre I expect a lot of guests generate towards the high street restaurants so no need for a more comprehensive menu. A nice place to wind down after a days work ( in my case)."

"The room was reasonable clean. The breakfast was good. The shower unfortunately was a trickle. The room needs updating but it is a very old pub. "

"The bed was really uncomfortable, which was a surprise for a PI, as they pride themselves on the bed comfort. The bar was open late which was great. The parking is small, only 17 spots and you pay for this daily. "

"Smart clean single room. Comfy bed. Clean bathroom. Lovely cooked breakfast. Plenty of choice including full English, kippers, cereals, fruit etc. Plenty of free parking places on the premises. "

"We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Chestnut Tree. Lisa, the host was the main reason, she is a great communicator which is important when booking. She was so very helpful with local information and incredibly kind. Our room was beautiful and the amenities in the bathroom delightful. The area is beautiful but with only one night, we didn’t get the change to do much exploring. Next time. Thank you Lisa for a wonderful stay."

"really lovely property.. Imagine it has everything you need for a longer stay, tea and coffee provided biscuits, milk and a couple of cans of beer in fridge.bed was super comfy, bathroom and room spotless clean. Thanks Ollie"

"After our last property this was a palace. The location was quiet and serene with lots of deer grazing right up to the property. The property was faultless - clean, comfortable and relaxing. The owners were extremely welcoming. The welcome pack was most generous and welcomed. I am sure we will return in the future."
