"Greeted at the door by site manager and given a tour of the facilities. We had the private ensuite room and was everying we needed. The shared kitchen had all the kitchen stuffs you would require. The house in down a long drive that's very bumpy so don't bring your sports car. Unfortunately the weather was not good so we will have to be back to explore the area again some time soon"

"Excellent stay. Spacious, clean rooms, comfortable bed and quiet room even though there was a named storm with 70mph winds you wouldn't have had a clue until you looked out the window, also never heard any noise from other guests. Would definitely stay again."

"Property and rooms needs a little bit of refresh, has new manager so hopefully will take this in hand. Young service staff who are trying their best, very polite and helpful. They just need a bit more guidance and organisation. Food excellent and recommend it highly. Enjoyed our stay, lovely and warm hotel."

"Lovely family 2 night stay. Free parking. The pool , jacuzzi,sauna,gym were good. Rooms a bit cold, but portable radiators were provided. If you book dinner, bed and breakfast you are restricted to a separate 3 course menu, with no option to choose from other menu without being charged. A better idea would be allowance from normal menu. All in all a good stay with good staff."

"Nice, large room with a soft, comfortable bed. Good amenities, large bathroom with tub and shower. Fabulous shampoo and body wash! TV wasn't good though, pixelated on most channels. Poor reception. We had dinner and breakfast there. Both highly recommended, tasty, lots of options, delicious. Staff are marvelous! Always pleasant and helpful, despite being short staffed, they worked hard and made our visit very enjoyable! Recommended hotel and restaurant!"

"I stayed in a room rather than one of the lodges, and the room was lovely, very comfortable, and spotlessly clean. It's worth noting its on the very edge of the town, around a 15-minute walk from the centre of Ballater. My only disappointment was that the rooms are not serviced daily unless you are staying for a longer period, which wasn't explained at check-in. It was a little frustrating to return after a long day out to find the room hadn't been serviced, as that's one of the things I most enjoy about staying in a hotel. However, once I queried this, the staff explained the policy and provided fresh towels when I asked. It certainly didn't ruin my stay. Overall, this is a lovely hotel with comfortable accommodation, friendly service, and I would happily stay here again."
