I chose this resort for accessibility. Expedia told me to email the resort directly. I did, three weeks out, in detail. Receipt was confirmed. The rooms controller replied two days before arrival with options showing she never read it, ignored my two follow-ups, then emailed at 4:41 PM on arrival day, 41 minutes after we were already standing in the lobby, claiming they “were waiting for us.” Nobody had read the email. They drove us in 91-degree heat to two rooms. The first was promised as accessible with a king and sofa bed. It had two double beds. The second had steep, narrow steps, no rails. My husband was in the heat 105 minutes. No water, no fan, no cool place to sit. We got a room at 5:45. Staff were genuinely kind. The problem is structural: the only accessible rooms are in the adults-only section, far from family pools. The only transport is a golf cart requiring two steps he can’t climb. A disabled parent can’t take his kids to the pool here. I withdrew my refund request and declined 150,000 points. I asked only that they train staff and confirm accessible rooms in writing before arrival. Marriott’s final answer: their “position remains unchanged.” Two concierges and an activities guide apologized to us. None of them had done anything wrong. The rooms controller, the front office manager, the general manager, and Marriott corporate never did. My husband is not a room assignment. He is a person.

TLDR: For anyone who is used it reasonable luxury travel (not even very upper class), this was a sub-par experience. The good: staff were very kind, facility was reasonably maintained (some age was showing though), beach access was nice. The bad: food was sub-par at best, food options were restricted as top restaurants would be booked out first thing in the morning (you have to use the Marriott Experience app to reserve things), they ask you to call operator for any assistance but phone response is super slow so you’re on the phone a bunch, most things close relatively quickly or are unavailable at random times, golf kart service was average, price felt too high for the quality of snacks & beverages that were available. Not planning to return to this facility.

I had the best time at this resort! It was absolutely beautiful and the staff was so inviting, helpful, professional and kind! I only had one hiccup in my stay which was stepping on a sharp shell in my hotel room the first night. The nearby beach has small shells and stones instead of sand and I think a small piece of shell was missed by the cleaning staff. With all that said, I called the front desk for a bandaid and they sent a first aid employee who carefully cleaned my foot, bandage it, and cleaned up the blood drips on the floor. I could not have been more impressed with this resort! I would definitely recommend it and hope to revisit it some day!

The property was beautiful and the staff exceedingly friendly and helpful. The pool could be amazing but the finish is so rough (like coarse sand paper) that it is uncomfortable and the water quality does not seem to be up to snuff (my white cover-ups came home with a brownish tinge. The most upsetting issue was the fact that the food in the open air buffet restaurant did not cover the food offerings, allowingt flys to land all over the food (disgusting). Also, at a resort of this category, I would have expected more air-conditioned areas to eat in. Additionally, I found the floors in the room quite dirty. Fortunately, the attention given by the staff went a long way to balance the good and the bad. Everyone gave over 100% to make us feel welcome and tried to meet all our needs.

What a great place for a family vacation, I did not realize how big of a property it is and this is our second time going. We got lost on one of the trails and ended up at another hotel but it was still a part of the property and we were over an hour walk back to our location. Staff was very helpful. They actually called somebody to come and to pick us up in a van with air-conditioning on the hot day…lol The food was excellent. I had steak every day with the exception of one day that they had a lobster and calamari cookout for dinner. The beach and the pool were a lot of fun. We were on the adult side, but we like going to the family side due to the size of the pool and the added shade with the jungle theme. It’s a very nice property.

Westin Reserva Conchal stay was amazing. The beach, the staff, the grounds, rooms, food, drinks, everything was chef kiss. We were able to see many iguanas, howler monkeys, and birds. The only downside is that the beach has public access and they got sellers and they can be pushy, otherwise amazing stay. My family and I were able to enjoy the grounds, beach and pool. I will definitely be back.

Property and resort staff were amazing. Didn't like that room security was non existent. My sons were hanging out in their room and another guest walked in. We complained about the mishap. It was never followed up by the hotel staff. Also, didnt care for the wrist bands/room keys associating your "status".

Only two minor complaints. Towels are not available for pick up or drop off at the beach access point. After returning from the beach and rinsing off the sand, there’s nowhere to leave you towels. Not enough trash bins to toss used cups.

The room was actually pretty spacious and the bed was also surprisingly comfortable compared to what we usually experience. The pool was nice and we had a great time. The only complaint I have was with the check in. I had asked for the top floor, the girl said she assisted the top floor and when we got to our room, it was the bottom floor. Since we were there with another family and we were right by the pool area, I did not have the energy to complain or make a fuss. As for the restaurants, the only one that was not great was the Italian style. Our food arrived cold. All others were great. My favorite was the Mediterranean and the Asian.

Just got back from a 7 night stay. Had a wonderful time! The rooms were clean and loved the filtered water machine and cappuccino maker in our room. Most food was very good with Bamboo (Asian) and Manglar (seafood) being our favorite restaurants. The pizza stand by the pool was awesome! The pool and pool bar staff were fun. Shoutout to Alan at the club swim-up bar. Recommend paying extra for the club adult side of the resort if you are traveling without kids. The beach was also great! We swam in the ocean and saw manta rays and sea turtles by the shore. Beautiful sunsets also. Highly recommend the Westin!

The property and Costa Rica are beautiful. The staff were outstanding—professional, friendly, and clearly part of a well-run operation. The resort itself is well maintained overall, but the guest rooms are beginning to show signs that they need upgrades and more attention to maintenance. Our room had mold visible behind the wallpaper in the bedroom. While the air conditioning kept the room comfortably cool, it leaked a significant amount of water from the ceiling onto the tile floor, creating a slippery hazard. The bathroom sink also leaked, causing the same issue. Maintenance responded promptly each time we called, which was appreciated. They repaired the air conditioning leak, but the bathroom leak persisted. Because repairs required staff to enter the room while we were there in the evenings, after long days spent enjoying the beach and pool, we chose not to continue requesting service. Instead, for the last three days of our stay, we placed towels on the floor and worked around the leak as best we could. Despite these issues, my children and I enjoyed the resort's amenities. The food was better than expected for an all-inclusive property, the pool temperature was perfect, and the beach was absolutely stunning. We made many wonderful memories during our stay. The maintenance issues did detract from the overall experience, but the beauty of the property and the exceptional staff still made it a memorable vacation.

We stayed for six days and had an amazing time. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing!!! My five year old son had so much fun at the kids club and wanted to keep going back.

Thé property is on the beach and the beach is not well maintained. The property is wide spread and the nature is beautiful. Many animals are roaming around and birds and monkeys are enjoying the trees. The restaurants are ok. Service is good. The food is ok nothing spectacular. Just adequate. Some restaurants you have to make reservations on the same day and reservations open up at 8 am. Very inconvenient during vacation to worry about reservation line opening at 8 am . Few minutes after 8 all he spots are booked. Definitely bad experience. All restaurants are closed between 3 and 5:30 pm expect the room service that takes 45 minutes to deliver the food limited menu. Since the property is very far from the town there are no other options. Very inconvenient during vacation to not have access to food. There is a take out Italian that you can get pizza or cesar salad only but again you have to wait and take the food to go . Paying for all inclusive option but getting pizza and Cesar salad between hours of 3 to 6 pm is false advertising. Guests at a almost 5 stars resort shouldn’t be treated like college cafeteria. Rooms are ok nothing fancy. Dark rooms with limited space. The grounds are walkable but dark at night since the lighting is very low not pleasant evening strolls. Overall felt like we are doing times at a facility rather than an exotic vacation in a resort. Tours are limited also and they play games with the hours paid and actual time you get . Won’t recommend.
