"This is an older hotel with very small rooms, all would have been fine but it was end of October so the weather had gotten cold and rainy in Calais. I could not turn on the heater in the room and when I inquired at front desk I was told that the heat had not been turned on yet for the hotel. It not was available per room as per the listing. Reception asked if I had additional clothes I could bundle in, I then did notice another guest sitting in bar area having a drink with a winter coat and...

"The property is a short walk from from the train station. There isn’t an elevator, I was on the second floor. The property doesn’t allow checkin until after 5 pm. The staff kept my bags until then. There are restaurants nearby. There is also the beach and outdoor market area about 15-20 minutes walk. The duvet was very warm and bed suitable for a short stay. The place was peaceful and quiet. The room was clean and decent sized for 1-2 people."

"Het is allemaal niet nieuw en zelfs wat oubollig. Maar het was schoon en personeel erg vriendelijk. Het restaurant van Hotel was voor mij de makkelijkste keuze (ik arriveerde relatief laat). De entrecote die ik bestelde (medium rare) was, zeker voor een restaurant in Frankrijk, behoorlijk mishandeld. Niet eens medium maar well done, maar in dit geval betekende dat doorgebakken schoenzool. Die koe is voor niets gestorven. Jammer!"

"The room was so, so dirty. Hair in the shower and all over the bathroom, and black mold on the ceilings and walls in the shower. The shower temp went from freezing to scalding with little in between. Only a combination body wash/shampoo in the shower. The heater in the bathroom looked like it was going to burst into flames when we accidentally turned it on, it was so sketchy. Dirty marks all over the walls. So. Dirty. Door frames and other parts of the room were also broken or poorly repaired....

"High standard of food, rooms and staff. Good parking and close to the tunnel."

"The hotel car park is spacious, secure and free. The rooms are clean and the bed comfortable. Bathroom was clean too with towels provided. Convenient location with food outlets within a few hundred metres. Obviously also brilliant location for the ferry, 6 minutes away."

"No air conditioning in the room but the temperature is okay during the heatwave while we were there. Staff are nice and helpful. Only thing is there is no hair dryer in the room but you can borrow one from the reception."
