"The staff was excellent and friendly and our casita (Colibri) was spotless. We stayed 4 nights here as our base to explore Mayan ruins as well as flora and fauna in the Calakmul Biosphere region. We’re happy we did. The food was great and they will prepare a nice box lunch if requested. "

Calakmul has been my favorite mayan site, so far, and the hardest to reach. The site is really big and its pyramids as big as the one in Chichen Itzá, covered almost completely by the jungle. It's like the mexican Angkor Wat.
