  • Let me preface these discoveries by saying that I ended up in Calella haphazardly. It is not necessarily a town that I would generally recommend. It is not your traditional Spanish/Catalan dream destination. It very much looks like something the 70's spit out and no one ever bothered to clean up. With that said, I freaking love this little freakish town, which I quickly & affectionately nicknamed "The Twilight Zone." The strangest occurrences happened throughout the month, yes MONTH, I lived in Calella. Apparently since the 70's, Calella, was a booming tourist destination for Western Europeans and the British. It has been on a massive decline over the past decade. What's left behind though are some fun Dutch and English/Irish pubs, a small welcoming expat community, and one of the most incredible beaches you will ever lay your eyes on. Beautiful clean white sand for miles and crystal clear turquoise water. Parties & bars on the beach, some free concerts in the summer time and of course drinking it allowed as well. If you happen to find yourself here, you must stop in at Beach Boys Club, tell the owners, Brian & Cathy, that Amber sent you. Then hit up Brian for his secret stash of American imported Budweiser (Did you know the bottled stuff is always produced in country? Brian believes the secrets in the water, so he gets the cans from the US. Brian is British, which makes this little story even better.) Also, be prepared to eat a lot of rotisserie chicken.

Nice hotel.

Well satisfied by the location, food and hotel. However there were lots of teenagers staying who were quiet and well behaved during the day but were noisy during the evening/ night.

Excellent hotel!

We stayed on the sixth floor and the outside view was amazing! The hotel is very clean,pet friendly and they gave us a small present for our furry friend. The breakfast and the food is served in a buffet. The prices are very low because of the season we went. The rooms are very clean and tidy. The beach is right across the street and there is also a pool in the premises. The only small problem we encountered was with the parking. It was a big difficult to find a free spot after evening.

Pet friendly hotel at its best.

Travelling with my partner, cousin and our dog. They were so welcoming and even had a welcome gift for the dog. That just set the tone for a great stay. The breakfast selection was very good and tasty. They even didnā€™t mind having dogs around for breakfast. If you want a pet friendly place where they are spoiled as music has you then this is the place. Would definitely visit again and stay longer.

My mother and I had a great experience at Hotel Internacional. The room is nice and cleaned everyday. The distance to the beach and the pool is a big plus. Big thank you to Dolores at the reception, she is so nice and keeps everything rolling around the hotel. At the buffet we were nicely served by Saloua, Ali, Angel and Jo-Maria. There was enough food and everything was refilled on time. Overall we had a pleasant stay and we will recommened this hotel to everyone. Hope to come back very soon!!

Excellent staff really pleasant and helpful, food was excellent at both breakfast and evening meal, rooms cleaned to a very high standard every day by very friendly staff. We booked a sea view and requested a high floor at check in but unfortunately the Hotel was fully booked so we got more of a tree view than a sea view beside a derelict Hotel on one of the lower floors. We would return to the Hotel International because for the staff and the food and hopefully we will get a better view on our second stay.

Welcoming and friendly. Fantastic location. Great price. Stay in this hotel if you love spending time at the beach. Itā€™s not perfect, rooms are standard, Hotel pool is small, roof terrace for a handful of loungers, food is typical of hotel buffet but good variety. Iā€™d recommend exploring the many local restaurants over full board ā€¦ā€¦..but when you get to the beach OMG !!! ā€¦you will never want to go home. Fantastic for the price.
