Restful and relaxing stay ; reminded us of the wonderful hosts at a Japanese ryokan. Loved the cedar Japanese tub
in our room. Breakfast was five star ! We will return!
We had a lovely time at Okaeri. The place was beautiful and so clean. We arrived late at night, but we were able check in to our room with no issues.
The room was small but well stocked with all the amenities. We enjoyed two days of comfortable nights and delicious breakfast each day. The staff were friendly and accommodating. My favorite part was the wooden bath tub! We will definitely be back to Okaeri next time we travel to Calistoga.
We were absolutely surprised with this gem in Calistoga! Everyone so friendly and they treated us above and beyond. We were attending a 3-day event that started right around the time that they served breakfast, so they accommodated us beautifully. The breakfast was delicious and presentation was beautiful too. They have a social hour with light appetizers and wine! The place is small, private, and beautifully appointed! We have found our place whenever we visit Napa Valley!
Okaeri blew away our expectations from beginning to end. Leslie and Craig, who opened and run it, were so hospitable and friendly as they immediately made us feel welcomed and at home. While the outside has a Victorian feel the Japanese inspiration throughout the property just melted away any anxiety we had leaving us with a calm, relaxing and enjoyable stay. The breakfasts were super unique and inspired letting us start each day with an unplanned but pleasant experience. The rooms were spacious and cute with multiple sitting areas to relax throughout the stay. And don’t let me get started on the bed sheets…bamboo and some of the most comfortable sheets we have ever used. The property had so much to offer as we enjoyed the fire pit at night, Craig even came to join us with some of his own stories of Napa lore, and the Koi pond in the middle of the dining area was gorgeous. We highly recommend staying at Okaeri and look forward to returning ourselves.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the newly opened Okaeri, and I can confidently say it exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality that made me feel right at home.
The decor is combining modern comforts with a cozy, rustic feel. My room was impeccably clean, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all the essential amenities. Including a beautiful deep soaking tub. I especially loved the comfortable king sized, which provided a perfect night's sleep after a day of exploring Napa, Sonoma, Calistoga, and Sacramento.
One of the highlights of my stay was the delightful breakfast! I was treated to a delicious spread of homemade dishes, featuring fresh local ingredients. From fluffy egg soufflé to mouthwatering pastries, fresh fruits, and pour over coffee. Every bite was a delight.
The location is also fantastic. It’s nestled in a peaceful area, yet conveniently close to local vineyards, restaurants, and breathtaking scenery. The hostess, Leslie, is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and offered great recommendations for things to do.
Overall, my experience was nothing short of wonderful. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway with excellent service, delicious food, and a lovely atmosphere. I can't wait to return!
This place was fantastic! Really, every little part of our stay was fantastic. From the easy parking/great location, the super-friendly staff, the fantastic room, the amazing breakfast/chef. We loved everything. I'd definitely recommend this place and plan to stay here again!
This place is quite pleasant and offers excellent service. The breakfast was very good and varied daily. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they even took the time to walk us through the property.
If I could give this property 6 stars I would. From the moment we arrived and the owner welcomed us with a glass of wine, we felt at home. Japanese inspired designs, amazing views, delicious homemade This is the only time in my life where I felt I underpaid for an accommodation.
We had an unforgettable stay at Okaeri Hotel in Calistoga. The service was truly top-notch—warm, attentive, and personal from start to finish. The beautifully designed Japanese-themed hotel offered a serene and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a Napa Valley getaway.
One of the highlights was the three-course breakfast, which exceeded all expectations. The chef, who was also the former owner of the hotel, prepared an exquisite soufflé and quiche that were both flavorful and beautifully presented—absolutely delicious!
The location is ideal—just a short drive to Yountville, Castello di Amorosa, and many of the region’s renowned wineries. We also highly recommend trying the famous Calistoga mud baths, which are nearby and make for a rejuvenating experience.
If you’re looking for a quiet retreat with character, comfort, and exceptional hospitality, Okaeri is a hidden gem worth discovering.

Everything about this hotel is amazing. The food, rooms, amenities, everything.
Craig was an amazing host! So warm and welcoming. Made our stay as easy as possible. Very clearly has a lot of love and care for the property and all the people that come and stay here. Without a doubt, this will be the first location I think of anytime I come to, or recommend, Calistoga, St Helena, or Napa!
