About this property

Cozy Lake Front Cottage w/dock, perfect family retreat!

  • Welcome to our little slice of Heaven. Our 3 level lake cottage is a perfect family retreat. It is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath (walk-in showers) home with a twin loft and 1 day bed for sleeping up to 8 people ( 8 is 2 person per bed, 2 on sofa sleeper, and 1 in loft and 1 in day bed). It is conveniently located just minutes north of Camdenton near Bridal Cave or on the 11MM of the Niangua Arm by water. This is a lake front house with actual shoreline (deep water) and a dock with two empty slips 10x20, this is not just lake access. Located on a quiet street. The driveway will hold 5 vehicles or 3 vehicles with 2 trailers attached.

    The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, pots, pans, baking dishes, utensils, and a variety of cooking gadgets. We keep sugar, flour, oils, and spices on had so you don't have to worry about the basics. We do have washer and dryers. Basic laundry supplies are available.

    The walk in level has a parlor that has one futon and the twin loft bed, bathroom with washer/dryer, and lake view bedroom with a full size bed and walk out deck.
    The second level includes a spacious living room with lake view, a futon, sofa, and kitchen with dining area.
    The third level includes a bedroom with a queen size bed, bathroom, and a walk out door to the lake. Laundry service is available. Owner lives next door, so you will be able to have quick communication if needed.

    We have Wi-fi and our TV's are equipped with YouTube TV, Hulu, Netflix, and more. Cell service is spotty in the house but good outside.

    A great house for 2 family's with children to share. It's an off season paradise for fishermen, minutes by water from the Larry Gale public access ramp.

    Sorry, we no longer accept pets for anyone who has booked past 8/15/2020.

    Dock Rules:

    1. Please use good judgment and practicel safety first when on the dock or in the water. Use at your own risk.

    2. Adult supervision for children under 16 years of age.

    3. All children must wear life jackets.

    4. Please put dock ladder back to an upright position when done.

    5. Shoes are recommended unless in the water.

    6. Renters and their guests are responsible for bringing their own life jackets and flotation devices to use on the dock. These items are not provided.

    NO FIREWORKS OF ANY KIND ARE ALLOWED.

Peaceful and Quiet

The property was just as described, if you’re looking for relaxation you will find it here. Very peaceful setting where the property is located. Beautiful views from the two decks. Highly recommend this property. The owners are very nice people.

Weekend away

Everything was clean and we enjoyed our stay so this isn’t a complaint rather a suggestion. You should probably get a better grill you need to be able to close a lid when grilling pork steaks so you can cook them more evenly.

Cozy house on water

Nice house. Lots of room. Very well stocked kitchen. Drive was really steep and narrow. Was ok with just a car but pulling a boat and backing a boat is difficult. Other than that Host was wonderful house was great and the view of the lake was absolutely beautiful

Great place to recharge

Loved this place. Sitting on the deck and seeing the water was so relaxing. The property owner is so amazing. Great communication. Even let us know about bad weather and the best place to be in the house if something happened. Above and Beyond!! The location is great for Ha Ha Tonka Park and Bridal Caves. We had the best time exploring the trails and doing the Bridal Cave tour. Very quiet and amazingly comfy home! Thank you!!!

Good stay

The house was as listed. The kitchen was well equipped for us to cook. The beds were comfortable. The deck area was nice, but it did need a good cleaning. The owner is very responsive. The home was comfortable and a good option for our family of 6. The road leading to the house isn't super well kept. We had a mini van pulling a trailer and had a hard time not bottoming out. I imagine this wouldn't be a big issue with a bigger vehicle. Overall, this rental is a good value. We'd stay again if we were back this way.

We needed a place to stay while attending a funeral in January - and the middle of the winter is not a ususal time for VRBOs at the lake. But we were able to get this home, and it worked out very well! If it were summer, this would likely be five stars across the board, but since we were the first people who ever stayed there in the winter, there were a couple of things that woulid have been nice - and I suspect the owner will listen to this and do that for future winter stays! It was cold in the house. Not unbearable, but cold enough that we asked the owners to bring by a couple of extra space heaters, which they immediately did. That took care of the upstairs - if you have anough people that some are staying in the basement room in the winter, you likely would need to figure out heat for there. And it has a great fireplace, that doesn't work! I realize it isn't needed in the summer, but for a winter stay, how perfect would that have been? The inside was clean, the deck l,ooking over the lake could have used some attention, but again - winter. We didn't even want to hang out there in the cold!Other than that, I have only good things to say. I'm a HUGE fan of MCM architecture, and this home made me happy in that regard. I would really lean into that if it were mine! Also, it was very, very well stocked with anything we would need. I super appreciated the responsiveness of the hosts, as we were there for a sad reason.

Main bedroom is a bit warm and we found some trash under the couch. We cleaned it up to keep it better than we found it.Did like it had board games, wish we had our own life vests to take advantage od the lake. Also wish we knew the beaches were closed.. that's on us. Loved the house, loved the layout and love that all other rooms were cold.Think for our first time using VRBO and being in the lake area.. it was very convenient and owner was very responsive to questions. Would rent this place again.

We had a genuinely enjoyable stay at this property. The location was peaceful and quiet, and the shaded deck was a highlight — we spent a lot of time out there. The home is comfortable and the property description was accurate. When minor issues came up during our stay, the owner responded quickly and resolved them without any hassle.That said, I want to share a few observations that may be particularly relevant for women traveling w/out male companions. These are personal preferences and may not matter to everyone, but I believe worth noting.On the security side: of the three exterior doors, only the front door has a deadbolt — the other two have standard doorknob locks only, and one felt noticeably loose. The basement bedroom also has an exterior door positioned right at the head of the bed, which felt unsettling at night.For privacy: the kitchen has three windows, including one large window facing the main road that looks directly into the living area, and none have curtains. We loved the natural light during the day but felt exposed after dark. Similarly, the loft bed and daybed near the front door are visible through the uncovered window in the door itself.One area that stood out as needing attention was kitchen cleanliness. While the rest of the home was well-kept, the kitchen didn't quite meet the same standard — crumbs in the cabinets and silverware tray, dust on dishes, pans were greasy, and what appeared to be old ice cream drips that had melted and refrozen

Great get away on the water. My family and I loved it!!!

The house was nice and had everything we needed in the kitchen for cooking. Had a blast swimming and fishing from the boat dock! Can't wait to come back!
