About this property

The Lodge: Riverfront Log Home in Blue Ridge Mtns

  • Blue Ridge Mountain Lodge | Private Riverfront
Stone Fireplace · Private Forest · Chef's Kitchen

Nestled in a mountain valley along a private stretch of the East Fork of the Pigeon River, the Lodge has long been a gathering place. Built of hand-hewn timber and stacked stone, it carries generations of craft and story, restored with care to its original bones. Authentic, unpretentious, and quietly luxurious, it's a place made for gathering. Come for the river and the mountains. Stay for deep sleep and the memories made around the table.

(Please read "Good to know" below so you know exactly what to expect.)

    The Lodge
Step inside to the wade room, made for boots, coats, and river gear. To the left, a wood-burning stove warms a sitting room with river views, shelves of books, and a record player. To the right, a plush banquette wraps around a round table. Just beyond is a generous kitchen with stone counters and a Thermador range, built for cooking together, with a long table ready for a crowd.

The living room centers on a massive stone fireplace, with a sleeping loft above for guests of all ages and a screened porch beyond, open to the sound of the river. Original wormy chestnut and live-edge maple run throughout. Bedrooms are dressed in Pendleton blankets and fine linens, with exceptionally comfortable mattresses, and there are three full bathrooms.

Sleeping arrangements (sleeps up to 10)
    • Primary Bedroom (main floor): 1 king bed, plus a cozy sleeping loft above with a queen futon mattress. The loft has a low ceiling (no standing room), so it's ideal for kids or adventurous adults.
    • Upper Level: 4 twin beds and 1 queen sofa bed, with a private attached bathroom.

    The grounds
Outside, the property unfolds across riverbank, meadow, winding creeks, ponds, and wooded trails.

Next to the Lodge is the Lost Library, a hand-hewn log cabin that seems to have always been here, with billiards, ping pong, and shelves of books. Attached is Cook-Out Cove, a covered gathering space with picnic tables, a barbecue area, darts, and lawn games, all centered around an old stone hearth.

    Good to know: expect nature!
The Lodge offers real comfort with authentic mountain living. Here's what to expect so you can relax and enjoy it:

-Mountain power: Electricity in the mountains can occasionally go out, especially during storms. Outages are outside our control and are usually restored by the power company. Wi-Fi (Starlink) and air conditioning depend on power.
-Heating and cooling: The bedrooms have mini split heating and cooling. The sitting room has a wood-burning stove, and the living room has a stone fireplace.
-Nature is close by: This is an authentic log home surrounded by forest and river. You may see the occasional bug or spider. We treat regularly, but nature is part of the experience.
-Firewood: Bundles are available for purchase on site.

We love sharing this land, and we think the river sounds, starry nights, and cozy evenings make it all worthwhile.
