From home to ocean in under a minute! This newly built custom home is just 200 feet from the ocean and located in the heart of authentic Old Hawaii - Captain Cook locale on the Big Island of Hawaii. An exceptionally comfortable residence, with expansive ocean views from all rooms, the covered lanais (patios), and large open aired decks create the perfect environment for lounging, relaxing or gathering with friends or family in an ideal setting.

Situated in an upscale neighborhood with a private beach park directly across from the residence, this craftsman style home, is within a stone's throw reach of some of the best diving, snorkeling, kayaking and whale watching on the island.

Rental includes use of beach chairs, beach towels, beach cooler and beach umbrella.

Hawaii County Restrictions:
- Quiet hours shall be from 9:00pm to 8:00am, during which time the noise from the rental shall not unreasonably disturb adjacent neighbors
- Sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries during non-quiet hours shall not be more excessive than would be otherwise associated with a residential area
- Guest vehicles shall be parked in the designated onsite parking area
- The STVR (short term vacation rental) shall not be used for commercial purposes

The host was very welcoming and took extra steps to make sure we were enjoying our stay. The house is a well designed, well thought out place making our stay very relaxing and peaceful. The ocean can be viewed from every room. It was exceptionally clean and well stocked.

We had a wonderful time and Greg was excellent. I decided to provide a pros and cons list for those thinking of staying here. The house is lovely but we would not call it luxury.Pros: The covered lanai and ocean view, sound of waves is fabulous.All the appliances are new. It is old world Hawaii at its best. The beds are super comfortable. Linens are new. All soaps, shampoos,,conditioner, body wash avaiilable.The outside shower in the master bedroom is great.Plan to stay here most of the time. It's a long drive to anywhere. You can swim and snorkel at the beach here or several up the coast but its hard when rough in the winter.Only about a little over an hour drive to Volcano national park.Cons: If you are older, the stairs from the parking to the house with heavy luggage is a lot. The road down to the house is navigable but scary. You have to ride the brakes a lot.The bedrooms are air conditioned. But the main room is not and it gets very hot, even with all the windows open and the fans going.The second bedroom is also the TV room, so if you want to watch TV, understand that there is no bedroom privacy. (You shouldn't be watching tv much in the gorgeous place anyway!)(Greg, you should leave instructions as to how to use the satellite tv and all the apps. It's a bit complicated for people who aren't technology savvy).The curtains are see through, which lets the sun shine in. And anyone looking! This could be a pro and a con, depending on you.

We stayed Jan19-23 2026. This is not your typical VRBO. This new beach house is luxurious, even posh! Wonderful deck with lots of comfortable furniture and great ocean views. It has a double bed and 2 twins in the middle. Master bedroom with its own bath is separate, only accessible from the deck, in the back. 2 great outdoor showers. 2.5 baths. Amazing decks, with great views. Bedroom AC worked great. Huge fancy kitchen, dining, living space. We cooked dinner in twice, and the kitchen and BBQ worked perfectly. Everything in the house is new and in spotless condition. It’s across a very quiet street from the beach, so technically not ocean front—but again, great ocean views from the deck. There’s a house SW that’s barely visible, a small parking lot for Pebbles Beach across the street, another house to the NW, so you have a view from all the way south, to straight west, from the decks (and inside). To the south is a huge lava field and forest as far as the eye can see, so it’s comfortable taking a shower outside, as they face south. Road down is crazy steep! Our small Ford SUV rental struggled with just 2 of us! If you have a carload, consider renting something big, like a Suburban. Pebbles Beach, right across from the VRBO, is very dangerous; people do swim and snorkel there, but I strongly recommend against it. Owner Gregg was a great host—very helpful and communicative. If you’re looking for quiet, extremely nice, off the beaten path, this is an amazing place.

The home is clean and so well cared for - the kitchen has all the amenities we needed to cook multiple family meals. Had an amazing stay at the beach house! The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could ever need. The house was very clean and we felt right at home as soon as we walked in. I absolutely loved this location for our stay on the big island. Checking in was smooth and Gregg gave me a call personally to make sure everything was good. The house is right by Pebble Beach which is very convenient for activities like swimming and snorkeling. There’s snorkeling equipment available at the house which was great. The kitchen was nicely equipped with everything we needed to cook meals during our stay. The drive to Volcanoes National Park is about 90 minutes. I loved the views from the house and having a very large deck complimented that nicely. I was able to do some astrophotography when the sky cleared up since most of the big island has skies rated Bortle 1. If you want to see the milky way, andromeda, constellations, or any deep space nebulas definitely think about staying here. I loved this experience and want to come back again in the future!

This was an absolutely wonderful day! The house was immaculate, and everything was perfect. Views of the ocean at the end of the street and across from pebble Beach! This home was even nicer than it appeared in the listing photos. The decks are enormous and provide an ocean view as well as a hillside view. This house is the last house on the road so the view across the hillside is unobstructed. The neighborhood beach is across the street and we never saw more than 3 or 4 people on it. The water was calm during our stay so we snorkeled and found some great coral, turtles and fish. It was wonderful.The kitchen is the best stocked of any VRBO we’ve stayed in and the house is immaculate. This house is managed by the owner and he is very easy to contact and work with. I intend to stay here again on my next trip.

This is a beautiful house in a fantastic location with access to a beach just across the street. The views of the beach and ocean from the front and side decks are fantastic. We spent hours on the deck watching and listening to the waves on the beach below. There is also a good place to the right of the beach to snorkel. Just wished we could have extended our stay. The house is well stocked with linens, towels, dishes, beach gear, barbecue grill, etc. You name it, it was there. A couple of nearby grocery stores have evrrything you need. The listing is 100% accurate, but there is no way to describe the peacefulness of this location. And the owner was easy to contact and always helpful. This was the perfect VRBO experience. Mahalo to the owner/host for making this house available.

Home Away From Home!

This was the perfect property for me, my wife, and 11 year-old son. Everything was provided for in the home and made our brief stay immensely relaxing and enjoyable. Just Perfect!

We loved our stay and the location of this beach home. Friendly owner has built a beautiful place to spend your time in Hawaii. South Kona Paradise

Our family really enjoyed our stay at this fabulous home. Check in was easy. House was spotless. Kitchen was well stocked. Loved spending evenings on the lanai. Wonderful stay!!

Excellent location 1 minute walk to the beach with a rugged trail north and south. Beautifully constructed and decorated home with gorgeous views. We enjoyed our 4 nights here so very much. Thank you !!

Idyllic doesn't cover it

The home was gorgeous. We loved everything about it -- the decor was inspiring, the beds excellent, the kitchen color and layout we plan to steal, and all those screened doors made even warm days awesomely comfortable. I honestly wish we'd planned a less jam-packet itinerary so we could have spent afternoons napping on the patio, listening to the surf and the birds. I'm getting nostalgic just thinking about it. If we're ever to return to the Big Island, availability here will be the first thing we check. We adored staying here!

Excellent place for four to stay in Kona !

Manager was excellent to communicate with, house was beautiful, beds were comfortable, all round great place to stay !
