Absolutely wonderful staff and the room was amazing!! The only issue (not their fault) they put me on the top floor and I struggle with stairs a lot as I’m disabled.. so, I booked a small single room but they have a huge room with a double and two singles great bathroom windows that open for air and the bed was great and the hot chocolate n biscuits. But I almost fell asleep my legs died underneath me and I was too shaky for what looked and slightly tasted like a fab breakfast. I was just too shaky from the stairs and felt bit sick but I tasted it. On a normal day I’d have had the lot. A great hotel in a fab location. I’ll definitely stay again. Thanks to Mike the manager .. just wish you had an elevator! Thanks again for a fab room.

Tatty outside fascade also reflected in poor outdated room furnished with poor (Argos) beds with wobbly frames, flat packs furniture and poor DIY shelving. Outdated bathroom, poor shower and washbasin. Very lazy toilet cistern. Price was certainly not a reflection of quality of accommodation. Felt mugged off. Did not have breakfast. Although it was clean and bedlinen fine

Booked very short notice late in the evening and was greeted by a friendly staff member, who I had spoken to on the phone and advised where their free car park was situated, bonus for Chepstow. Linen etc was nice and clean as was the lovely new looking bathrooms. I realise an older property, but feel in 2026, could definitely do we a makeover, remove those horrible carpets, and stop the creaking floor boards, change your mattress's. Rooms need to be sound proofed as could hear a very loud TV from next door from 5.30am, not great. Room view had a ledge of another part of the building, which had rubbish on it, pretty orrible. All the changes would still keep this as the lovely old Inn that it is, and I would stay again.

Firstly fantastic staff. Nothing too much trouble. Lovely well stocked bar area. Fabulous breakfast. Very clean. Free parking to the rear of the property. Central location. We stayed as we were attending a wedding so didn’t really explore much but what we saw was very nice. Bedrooms were basic but this was obviously reflected in the price. Teas and coffee were well stocked in the room and had a good variety. Larger towels would have been appreciated. On the whole fantastic stay and for the reasonable price it was good.

Parking is first come first served. We had no issue. We did go around twice as we missed the entrance. Room was clean and comfortable. We would have liked a firmer mattress. Loved the wonky bits of the building. Breakfast was lovely. Good choice of everything and we asked if we wanted more. Great atmosphere in the bar, seems popular with locals. All staff were very friendly and chatty.

Location good, everything close by and withjn easy walking distance. Off road parking. Dated but quaint building. I had an end room with such weak water pressure that a shower was very slow. Great location in the centre of Chepstow. Staff were really friendly on arrival and the whole place looked spotlessly clean. However, I’m not sure which bit of the room was soundproof- at 3am I was woken by a guest in the next room, chatting about his friends’ sexuality… to himself! At 0530 I was awake again by people in the creakiest corridor known to man, after which I couldn’t sleep due to noise of other guests leaving… it all sounded as if they were in the room with us! Just after 0930, housekeeping was knocking the door, to check we were in there apparently!! I loved the place… but rooms are definitely NOT soundproof, and I need my sleep!!

Single room (10) nothing like the photos on the website. Old, dated & heating did not work. I called reception at 5pm to be told that heating was on a timer & would come on at 7pm. Went out at 6, came back around 11 & heating still not on. Was freezing all night, had to sleep with a hoodie on. Cancelled reservation for 2 more nights. Would not stay here again

The staff were fantastic and really helpful, the bar was a nice comfortable place to go. However! Parking was extremely limited - there are only a handful of spaces so we had to use the local pay and display. The room decor was quite dated. The bed was solid, squeaky and the bedding itself uncomfortable. The shower pressure was so bad we couldn't use it. The room in general was quite dusty. This hotel is fine for a one night stayover, which is what we booked it for, on our way to our final destination but wouldn't recommend for a longer stay. I must reiterate - the staff were all really lovely, and the bar a nice place to go. We didn't try the food but it smelled really nice.
