Diamond Cottage is a beautiful former Joiner’s workshop located in the grounds of the gorgeous Corby Castle Estate. Named Diamond Cottage for its unusually shaped fenestrations, it is elegantly furnished throughout with kitchen/dining and bedroom on the ground floor and upstairs there is the living room and further bedroom. The bedrooms offer luxurious beds boasting quality linens and towels and are complemented by modern and sleek en-suites. The living room is furnished with comfortable sofas and the kitchen offers every modern convenience. Diamond Cottage offers quality and comfort throughout and the perfect place to enjoy a small break in the beautiful Cumbrian countryside.

Great Corby is a desirable and very pretty little village and has a well-regarded pub and a microbrewery where you can enjoy some fine ales all brewed on site. The village is beautifully placed above the River Eden where an impressive Victorian viaduct spans the river and provides pedestrian access to the nearby village of Wetheral. Diamond Cottage is the perfect location for exploring further afield. Enjoy a visit to Hadrian’s Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Talkin Tarn is also a lovely day out where you can enjoy water sports on the Tarn and enjoy the lovely woodland walks. The delightful little market town of Brampton is close by where there are a mix of shops and restaurants and the Border city of Carlisle where you can enjoy high street shopping or cultural sites. Close to the Lake District National Park, the North Pennines and Scotland your location here at Diamond Cottage is superb.

The accommodation was well equipped and very secure, being behind locked iron gates after 5pm and all weekend. We were given a key by the security guard so that we could leave for a meal out in the evening through the "trades mans" entrance padlocked iron gates. It should be pointed out to guests that they have no access to any of the estate grounds, with cctv supervision to deter trespass. The estate workers were very helpful during our visit, with a wasps nest in the property dealt with by Rentokill.Overall we enjoyed our stay, but would seek alternative accommodation should we return to the area.
