We had an excellent stay overall. We enjoy the pool before our check in time and we were able to park our car longer than check out time. Room was very comfy and spacious. However, they need to improve their breakfast, it was awful, bad coffee, old cereal, toasts were handled by hand, waffles were bad too. Options were extremely limited and the quality was poor. The staff member there was a bit rude and most tables were dirty.

Great customer service when we arrived. The room had an ocean view and a balcony, which was very nice. Rooms are well separated, so there was no noise from others. The WiFi was easy to connect and reconnected when you return to the room.

The location is terrific. We parked our car for four days and just walked everywhere! The Dini’s Restaurant on site was good. I ordered a salad that had no green lettuce in it, I wasn’t charged for it. Everything else was pretty good. We e visited this location 4 or 5 times. The ocean views are awesome!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Tamarack Beach Resort! The staff was so courteous and friendly from the moment we arrived. The property, though older, is very well maintained, and the location right across from the beach can't be beat. There are lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance and the area seems very safe. We had a first floor room with partial ocean view and made use of our outdoor patio every day for morning coffee, lunch, and evening sunsets. Complimentary breakfast and secure underground parking were provided with our stay. The pool and surrounding area are nice for relaxing after a walk along the beach. We would definitely stay here again on a future visit to Carlsbad.

We had a wonderful stay! Everything was great from start to finish. The location was perfect and very convenient, and the staff truly stood out. Everyone we encountered was so pleasant, welcoming, and helpful. They made us feel comfortable and were always happy to answer questions or help with anything we needed. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and exactly what we were hoping for. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!

I loved my stay at this resort. It's an older property, but they maintain it well. It's in the perfect location, so I'm glad it's a little older, if it was a new building, it would be unaffordable. All staff from front desk to breakfast staff, to housekeeping, even pool maintenance were refreshingly welcoming, kind and helpful. I always got the feeling that that guests were appreciated. Provided beach towels were a great benefit. The continental breakfast was above average. Fresh waffles (cooked to order by staff) bacon, sausage and hard boiled eggs in addition to the usual pastries, cereal, yogurt, etc. It would have been nice to have some kind of scrambled eggs available. Which would be my only suggestion. Free garage parking was a critical/outstanding benefit.
