Guests will enjoy the rich history of whaling, dairy operations, abalone fishing, and canning which were among many thriving business that A.M. Allan operated on this historic property dating back to 1898. This 2 bedroom, one-level home is perfectly situated to maximize the views of Point Lobos and is just a few steps to Monastery Beach — famous for diving and pounding ocean swells. Take pleasure in the sweeping panoramic ocean views of Point Lobos and a white sand beach as your backyard. Scuba divers come from far and wide to enjoy the kelp forests, otters, seals, whales and other wildlife found in the waters off Monastery Beach. Hardwood floors, fireplace and large glass panels blur the lines between indoor and outdoor living. 3 cottages on property. Two 2 bedroom one 3 bedroom.

No Weddings, Events, or Parties of any kind are allowed.

2 Dogs max for a fee of $195.

A little piece of Heaven on earth. Quiet, well stocked , very clean. Steps from beach. Close to grocery store, shopping , and sunsets are spectacular. We’ve been to 2 of the 3 cottages. The hosts are the nicest folks. Thank You!

Stunning location & property!!

We enjoyed the property during our week's stay - the views are incredible!! Enjoyed the adjacent trail along the shoreline. We like to make our own meals, so just wish the kitchen's range was more user-friendly.

A Perfect Stay in California

This was the perfect get away from a Mn arctic blast in January. Sarah was responsive and helpful with every question we had and Mark was gracious in orienting us to the property and cottage upon our arrival. The cottage was small, comfortable and cozy which was perfect for our needs and the view was beautiful. The location was nice with easy access to Point Lobos and other trails. We truly enjoyed our stay at this property and would love to visit again.

Gorgeous Quiet Beachfront Cottage Near all!

We were impressed with the coziness, relaxing atmosphere forever views of the ocean and Monastery Beach and all the amenities that you will need in a small place. Very comfortable, quiet and secure. Close to hiking trails, commercial malls like the Barnyard, gas stations and a short drive to Carmel Point, Scenic Drive, Carmel Beach and Ocean Ave shopping and fabulous restaurants. We will comeback, planning our next stay! Thank you for sharing your beautiful cottage!

Ocean front cozy paradise

We chose this property for its private location directly on the ocean. We wanted to drink our morning locally roasted coffee and our evening glass of local wine on our private oceanfront property! We wanted to watch the sunrise and sunset on the beach and walk out the back door to a spectacular almost private hiking trail along the coast! This was perfect! Cozy, quiet, clean. Relaxing and awe inspiring! 😍

Breathtaking Views!

Our family had such a wonderful time staying at the Abalone Cottage! The hosts were very communicative and the house was spotless upon arrival. We thoroughly enjoyed the walking trail nearby. Picture Perfect!

This enchanting seaside cottage is right out of a fairytale! Spectacular views of Pt Lobos and Monastery Beach mesmerize you as you sip your morning coffee or sunset wine. The cozy wood burning fireplace adds to the charming ambience. Stunning walk to Carmel River State Beach is a great way to start each day. The cottage was well equipped and clean. So happy the owners are willing to share this family retreat with us. Cannot wait to return!

Best Trip Ever!!

This is one of the best vacations I have ever had. The property is amazing. Perfect views of the sunset over the beach. It was relaxing to listen to the sound of the waves at night while falling asleep. The town of Carmel is so cute and quaint and the locals are so friendly. But truthfully if I never left the property in 5 days I would have been just as content. I hope to be back next year.

Cozy cottage

We had an amazing time during our stay at the Abalone cottage . The cottage was clean , quaint and cozy for the 2 of us. It has a Beautiful view of the ocean !!! Loved the Cozy fire place for the chilly nights . We enjoyed chilling out in the lawn chairs in the back yard listening to the waves, watching the coastal fog come and go, and walking down all the paths along the ocean. Kitchen was nicely equipped, and Checking in and out process easy peasy. With Carmel so very close, we had some lovely dinners out , and take out for the chill nights. Me and my husband loved our stay ! Hope to come back again soon. ♥️🦋🌺. T. Obrien

Beautiful View, confortable house and great hosts.

Comfortable and clean house. Comfortable beds and linens, very wl stocked kitchen with nice utensils. Quiet house and restful location. Nice shops nearby, loved the local stores and restraunts. Thank you for the bottle of wine it was nice to enjoy on our first nite at the house, watching the sunset. Will definitely return.

Cozy, Comfortable, Convenient, and Quiet

We enjoyed our entire 4 days in this wonderful little cottage. Get back to simple living and take in the superb view of Carmel Bay. Great set-up for our dog, too.
