Overlooking green fields adjacent to the 18th century Carmel Mission and a beach beyond 'Tuckaway' studio features more than captivating views. Behind a garden gate, through your private entrance is a bright quiet cozy retreat. This spotless eco-friendly studio has a comfy Queen Bed with Luxury Linens, "Life Source" Whole - House filtered water System, and is cleaned with organic products.

Remodeled Tuckaway's hand-hewn hickory floors and oriental carpets are just some of the examples of our attention to detail.New Granite counters in kitchen & bath with all new fixtures & stone floor in bath.

Come and be enchanted in the landscaped gardens with covered sitting bench that are very private. The gardens include a lit fountain, Over 1,200 sq. ft. of Custom Inlaid Brick Patio with Ocean & Beach Views. Custom Wood/Gas Raised Brick Fire pit, Teak Lounges and a settee to enjoy in the sun or evenings with native plants and well placed low voltage lighting casting a special glow. Fenced in private yard for you and your pet!

My husband and I enjoyed this lovely studio immensely with its beautifully maintained surroundings and private patio. Tons of privacy and a view of the ocean in the distance. The owner, Bill, was so accommodating and hands-on with our needs. Minutes away from all kinds of amenities. We highly recommend this special little gem. Very pet friendly too. We truly think you won’t be disappointed!
Sitting in the lovely private patio, sipping on our favorite wine and overlooking the grounds with the ocean in the distance. ♥️ 🐾

Beautiful landscaped property. Space was great but tighter than we prefer. Host was great- responsive, prompt and provided easy check in. He really cares about his home. Home is Close to everything you want to see in the area.

The Tuckaway was a truly magical property. We will never forget it! Bill did an incredible job when we arrived of explaining the very unique property and building as well as the surrounding area. The garden is just otherworldly. We so enjoyed happy hour there at the end of every day as well as meditating in the peaceful beauty. Highly recommend! Five minutes into town for phenomenal meals and shopping as well.

The owner was very kind, accommodating, and quiet, and the space was clean and comfortable. That said, the listing could be a bit clearer — the 1200 sf refers to the patio, not the interior (which is about 500–600 sf), it’s a finished walkout basement suite with a dedicated private entrance while the owner lives above. We enjoyed our stay, but clearer details would have helped set expectations.

The property was amazing! The yard was extremely spacious and was great for our dogs to run around. The location of the home is perfect as it is right off the Route 1, but far enough so there is no noise pollution. Additionally, it is just minutes away from downtown Carmel and nearby shopping plazas. Check-in was a breeze and the room and bed was the perfect size for me, my wife, and my 2 dogs.

Amazing spot!

The plicate patio was to die for! Calm, quiet, and peaceful. A tranquil getaway. It felt private from the main house. Bill was very helpful and met us at check in to show us the keys and give us a tour.

Carmel Hideaway

Cozy hills hideaway in the Carmel-by-the-Sea area. Perfect for the two of us, and the listing was exactly as pictured. Lovely grounds/landscaping/views to enjoy, and easy access for everything we wanted to do in the area. Bill (host) gave us great recommendations for restaurants, etc., and was very thorough during the check-in process.

Cozy and Relaxing! Such an awesome spot

Stayed for 4 nights and had an absolutely wonderful time. Bill was super friendly, knowledgeable, and communicative. He made us feel very welcome! He showed us everything his place had to offer and the firepit was such an awesome touch- really enjoyed it.

Great Location, Great host

This property is a gem and in a great location. The view, large patio and grounds are amazing. I brought my two dogs, and the property great for dogs. The host was very responsive and wonderful, he even shipped me the Stanley cup I accidently left there. I would definitely recommend this place.

Carmel Getaway

Superior property - central to everything in Carmel & surroundings. High quality sheets, towels and Beautiful gardens & views out to the sea & beach. Wonderful property for us and our dogs. Great care & thought given to the property by the owner. We are in our 80s...and my balance isn't the best after foot surgery, so the entrance to the front door down a gradual slope with small steps and no hand rails was a little concerning for me. But, overall, the studio with fenced-in garden is surely the best you'll find in Carmel in VRBO. Thanks, Bill. From Mickie, Doug, Kirby & Toby.
