Lovely owners who have run this place for over 40 years. It is set back in time, early 80s and an education and experience of that. However does have Wifi and central to the Town. I was upgraded to a larger room with en suite without asking which was a nice touch. Pleasantly surprised with the cost that it included breakfast, I had porridge, fruit juice, cooked breakfast and toast. All floors have stairs which would not be suitable for the less mobile.

The owners went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. They got up early to make us breakfast due to an early departure. The property is a listed building and is in need of renovation in some areas, especially the bedroom window in our room. Bed very soft but clean, towels, tea and coffee facilities provided and parking behind the property. Very close to several bars and restaurants

Had a light large room with en suite, if you want fancy then this is not for you, the couple running it are very easy to talk to and very pleasant and helpful, breakfast was good, right in the centre of town.

Do book here if you'd like a warm welcome, clean sheets, tea and coffee with fresh milk in your room, an inclusive cooked breakfast, free parking, and a central location for a fraction of what you'll pay elsewhere in the town for room only.
Don't book here if recently refurbished fixtures, fittings, carpets, decoration and bathrooms are important to you. The owners are lovely, and have owned the place for close to half a century. Appreciate that.
Lovely guesthouse and inn. Was a great stop for a night before the windmere swim marathon. Really appreciate that breakfast is included and very gracious host.

Cheap and cheerful, in need of a lot of tlc. Room 5 was fine although the bathroom floor was very uneven. Breakfast was good, other meals were okay, you get what you pay for! Had to wash everything when we got home due to the smell of fried food.
So first we was driving in to the back area and we were met with a man who appeared drunk and could not reverse a car out, Then there was no where to park so at 11 o’clock at night we had to drive around but thankfully Pam helped us but as we walked though the door Pam was down our throats making sure she had her money.
Then!! We got to our room and it appeared clean but stunk and very old bathroom was poor, didn’t even want to brush my teeth. The bed was comfy. The next morning the breakfast was poor she offered my partner gone off milk but advised against her using it.
Everything was greasy but it was ok ish and fair prices but I would love to see the the kitchen
And I never saw the old bloke. Overall, do not go.!!!!!😬😬😬

This property receives variable reviews across various platforms, great reviews and poor reviews alike seem a little unrealistic and the bad ones often ill founded. It is a old and tired property that reuqires a lot of work, the room was small but comfortable. There was a pervading smell of damp (not cooking oil as noted on other platforms) just like home!! wall paper and bathroom had clearly suffered in past. Good breakfast, clean room, friendly accommodating host. When you make a booking at a property which is 25-50% cheaper than any other in the immediate area and includes breakfast what are you expecting? We went in on a budget with low expectations but it was not as bad a we had thought it might be and we had a separate private bathroom having anticipated sharing. Is it the Ritz? No. Would we stay again, undoubtedly, yes.

Quaint, old fashioned pub
Not the best but very good value for money. The hosts were lovely and the food was excellent. We would definitely book again for an overnight stay
Stopped off for one night on our way to Scotland. The room was basic, comfortable bed, nice breakfast. Pete and Pamela were very helpful and really nice people.
