"the first thing that stuck us was how out of town this type of accommodation is. That applies to all Masseria hotels. The rooms are situated around a pretty courtyard. The rooms are basic and of reasonable size. There are no facilities for making tea/coffee. However, there is a fridge. A small sitting area is outside each room. There is no bar here and the restaurant does not open till 8 pm. the reception can provide wine or coffee. We bought our own beer and kept in in fridge in room....

"From the moment we arrived we were so well looked after, we were early to check in and was able to use the facilities even though our room wasn’t quite ready. Everything was easy going, we were looked after well but it wasn’t intrusive. Attention to detail throughout the property was amazing, it felt like everything had been thought of! "This historic 'cave' room is very comfortable and fun. It's within the driving limited part of the town, but is just steps away from plenty of parking. The bed is very comfortable, the heating works great, hot water takes awhile but comes on. The Relais di Marchese is billed as a B&B but when I asked about breakfast they said there wasn't any. I was invited to have a coffee and croissant at the cafe down the street. highly recommended "
