The house is located in an interior region, the so-called Terra de Montes, where many rivers flow through its orography, including those that later flow into the Rías Baixas. The Umia river, in the Ría de Arousa near Cambados, and the Lérez and Verdugo rivers that make up the Pontevedra and Vigo estuaries at its exit to the sea.
It is a region dotted with buildings closely linked to the rural world such as water mills, very numerous along all its rivers, although today most are in disuse.
