Stay away.
We called on our way to the hotel. Was informed we needed to be there before 7pm or we wouldn’t be able to check in instead of the 1030 check in on the booking info. We barely made it. The room looked stayed in and no toilet paper or toiletries. We had to go back out and find the usual hotel provided items in an small town that shuts down early. Just an awful experience. Tried taking it up with the clerk or manager the next morning. A service lady said no one was around to talk to and have an excuse for the owner / manager. Stay away. Go to the cabins or another establishment.
This place was great, if you ever need to stay in this little town, this is the only place I would stay. I've been at every hotel in this town and this one is the only one worth staying at. The staff are so kind!
Clean and well kept. Easy to communicate with owner to get everything we needed for the room. She is taking covid seriously so you might have to ask for some things for your room, but she's great about responding and getting everything you need. It felt like a very quiet and safe location.
Needed a last minute room change for preference and comfort (the othet guest has difficulty carrying luggageup stairs) , and the manager was very friendly and accommodating, and changed our room to downstairs. Great location, very quiet, and clean.

We got to the hotel at 7pm, and the office was locked, no one answered the door, the phone, or the mgr suite. Expedia had to rebook us elsewhere when the, also, got no re af ponse frim the hotel.
OK. Pros: rooms are a little larger than some I've stayed in, clean, good location. Cons: no provided hand or shower soap, no TV remote, had to plug in the small refrigerator, lack of electrical plugs, no AC and no way to get cooler outside air into room without leaving the entrance door open, had a window but no airflow.
The lodge is located two or three hundred feet from the highway between two other properties closer to the road. The location and the small poorly lit sign made it difficult to find. The room was clean and the bed comfy. The room was not air conditioned and although the outside temperature was in the sixties the room was stuffy. There was a fan to blow a breeze over the bed but it was noisy. There was no breakfast.
Probably the best time I’ve had lodging! The couple who run the inn are very friendly and funny and you will miss them (we do) The location is right by a river (Rio Chama) with the very scenic riverbank accessible with a pretty short walk downhill. We saw deer during our short stay. The rooms are comfy as heck and a great place to come back to after a day adventuring. The last night of our stay the outside temperature dropped to 18 degrees f, and we were warned and offered blankets and heaters for our room. It was bittersweet to have a last cup of their coffee and leave and I hope we can come back.
The property was obviously old as the doors don't close properly, they still have key locks which don't work on all the locks. For breakfast they only serve coffee and an energy bar. The light in the bathroom was on a time and both the light and fan turner on and it was very loud. The pillow cases, while clean were stained and obviously has been washed many times. I will give the room heater a plus as it ways quiet and efficient.
The managers were very nice, friendly and informative about local events and restaurants. Room spotless, bed comfortable, roomy, hot shower the best. They had recently taken over management of the hotel and were eager to please and provide a good stay.
